Not doubting you can do it, but just want to make this a streamlined and definite list.

Gonna hold Kyle to the same standard, even though I know he'll come up with something soon as well. Make sure you're ready to be committed before signing up.

I already had something I just didn't want to put anything but meh...

How the hell did you manage to get Justin Wawrzonek? I must have asked him if he wanted to take the final TOATM part twice now and still hasn't got a reply.

this is ridiculous. there's like eleven billion film festivals a year, most of which are littered with crap, and then no one bothers to release anything in between festivals. the new releases forum has been completely dead for over a month. this community can eat my shit.

I want to make Level 1 a bit longer than what I first aimed for, so I'm signing it up for the Spring Fest.

Title: Rayman: Level 1
Directed By: Anders Borg
Release: Spring Festival

Trailer for Level 1 will be out for Winter Fest.

I'm actually in agreement with Andres about this whole thing. If anything you're encouraging more and more directors to release their movies within film festivals and that is obviously going to detract from the overall average of New Release activity. I can understand the intentions behind this: obviously its designed to get every director at work at the moment motivated enough to have something to aim for, but there are better ways to do this than hold film festivals that's going to promote competition and realistic limitations.

By the time this FF starts, the new board will be active. In fact, part of the idea was for a series of new releases to concide with that. The way the movie forum works on that layout is significantly different; each movie has its own page, so the distinction between film fests and regular releases is only in the frequency of releases at any given time.

The decision to do the two film fests also allows for overflow from the first to be pushed to the second, to give directors working on major releases like D3MONS, Legacy of Saradomin, and Mario Saga 2 a set but somewhat flexible deadline three or four months down the road. Hopefully the Xmas one will be a nice inspiration boost for them to get moving, which is why I've got the whip to everyone who's signed up for that as well as aiming to get Vlarion done at that time (and it will be).

I think the point is to encourage a more regular release schedule for movies rather than relegating all the releases worth anything into the Film Fests, which end up being hit or miss.
There should be some other way, like forming monthly release schedules, or something.

This seems more about the desire to set directors deadlines that'll tie into the health of the board more than anything else. More than ever you seem to have this urgency to have films released Aaron, and that just isn't the way they're going to get made. If anything this very idea of a festival is turning me off the idea of 3dmming.

Moreover it seems to be a sort of semi-attempt to bring out a whole batch of very special movies at once. That in itself is a bad idea. you release four "blockbusters" at the same time one of them, if not two, will suffer. It's not productive and it's just not a good idea. I severely doubt that all of the films released will get the attention they deserve, and I doubt even more the community audience is willing to sit through an entire festival of movies of this quality, pausing to remember each one for their specialties. Big movies work best when released in relation to either a festival full of smaller films, or independently in New Releases. This is going to promote unnecessary competition and a possible tendancy to rush the projects. Look at Anders. He's forever moulding Rayman Level one to deadlines. This is what I'm talking about. Clearly none of this was your intention but like it or not it's bound to happen.

That's the point you're missing.

Releasing Moderately Confused by itself was one of the best decisions I've made about the movie.
