I use to be optimistic, and even enjoyed the thought of a greater existence--however, because of the recent events in New York, I've sort of lost faith and have shielded myself off from my religion. To use such a primitive way of thinking and reasoning to explain your existence just seems futile in today's world. Not to mention, for the terrorists to use THEIR religion as a means to justify killing people just goes to show you how far religion can brainwash us all from reality. All this fighting because a bunch of primates in the middle east are too blinded by religious extremists to see the truth.

Goat that's what i have been saying for quite a while now. Quite a few of my friends laughed when i told them but i don't think it's really that silly if you stop and think about it. Religion is really just another thing to fight about, which is what we don't need.

I think the whole controversy around relegion causing wars is as ignorant as saying all Arabians are terrorists. Some relegions cause wars, some relegions make the world better. Just like some people are bad and some people are good. To say that all religion is bad because a select few have caused wars, well then shouldn't you also hate ALL people, because some select few people started those wars?

I'm sure that gods real. I cant prove it, so i never say that i know, but i do know.

Andres Im not saying that Christianity is the superior religion. Im saying that simply if God exists and inspired man to create the bible, than this is what is says.

there's also a war between science and religion, and i think religion is losing, but they they will always have the last word, "God created the universe" or something, if science can show us solid proof of that, then religion is fucking useless, centuries ago religion was really fucking powerful, because of the inquisition (spell) and science couldnt be developed freely, take Galileo for example.

I don't believe in god, because I was never sent to church to do all the things that many families make their children to, i dunno the name but whatever.

Yeah ok Evan, they wrote thousands of pages of scripture that isnt simply repeating it self, told stories that spanned over thousands of years and yet didnt contrdict itself, explained thousands of concepts in the words of many different men, had perfect spelling, showed no signs "this is a lie" and all "just because"

You can throw the bullshit around all you want, the simple fact remains. No one can prove there is a God, but no one can prove otherwise. It's true. I'd love to see someone prove or disprove religion, because that way I'd at least know what I'm supposed to be doing in my life.

Both sides have huge holes. I think it's absolutely fucking ridiculous that humans were a simple coincidence. If you think of it, just what a miracle it is that we're actually living things, able to move, think, shit, fuck, etc. you'll see what I mean. As far as I know, evolution is bullshit. That's right, I said it. Evolution is bullshit.

On the other hand, it's true that the Bible is really a collection of writings which simply have gone totally unquestioned for hundreds of years, and only recently when religion lost its grip on world power did the Bible come under fire. We're accepting 4000 to 2000-year old books as unquestionable truth, which is also fucking ridiculous.

That's the reason why I'm still a Christian in that I believe in Jesus and God, but I stopped going to church a while ago.

That sounds like a government problem. Here in the US, kids don't even sing the national anthem during the begining of each school day anymore because it has the word "God" in it. In addition, I can't tell you how many countless stories we've heard of schools getting in trouble for posting "God bless America" on their entrence signs due to 9-11.

Thats retarded, but seriously, lots of people complain and stuff that theres no relegion in the schools at all anymore etc. But I think its better. It gives a bad name to relegion for it to be taught as if fact in an institution built upon facts. Its kind of like those guys who try to scare you into joining by writing huge articles on hell.

I think lots of people view relegion as a way to "not be punished", or just simply what you do not to make yourself happier, but to save yourself from pain. Thats not true at all. Relegion is a way of life, it encompasses your beliefs, morals, standards and values. And it WILL make your life better if you join the one right for you.

He didnt say he could prove it, he said that as far as he's concerned it don't make sence, and then he gave some reasons like improbabilty. Again he never said that it was a fact or provable. He only said he didn't go for it.

Well also Goat, you put down your religion at the start of the year, so they can sort you into scripture classes. Would you beleive mine was the 'Non-scripture' class? Ridiculous. We also had a speaker at school the other week for the sep. 11 incident. He started off well, for the first 5 mins or so, comparing it to reality TV, and saying this is reality TV, this is stuff that's really happened etc. etc. And it was kind of a good speech... then he mentioned god. The rest went for about 20 mins and was all about beleiving in god, not hating, forgiving instead of waging war etc. The whole school was made to sit through this speech. I wonder what would of happened if like half the students walked off...
