Ya know what? Sure! When I confront God at the end of my life, I'll be fine, because some random idiot, who probably hasnt hit puberty yet, on an online bulletin board told me to say religion is bullshit! I will take heed to your comment, and do what you say!

And by the way, you didn't settle anything with your last comment. How do we force it into people? Do you have any specific examples? From everything I've experienced, they let the public know that they are available. The public then chooses what path they have to take. What reason do you have to not have a religion? So far, all you've said was "Well, shit happens, take it or leave it." Or some faggy thing like that. You're a fucking idiot. I don't think you've ever picked up a Bible or researched any religion out of laziness. Why do I think that? Because usually the people that research it give a specific reason why religion doesn't tickle their fancy. You, on the other hand, seem like you are just bashing it for fun. Also, you're a fag, so that factors in as well.

Alan Maloney makes me look open-minded on Religeous aspects.

My beliefs are simple: We have no clue whether there is some greater power guiding our lives, and if so, if it's an ominesant being or something nastier. So, since we have no clue, why pick sides? It only leads to squabbling over "ideas".

It's annoying when people use that excuse "You can't prove he DOESN'T exist". Not only does it remind me of the tedious "I know you are, I said you are, but what am I?" thing but it's just a bullshit answer.

Saying that you can't prove he does exist is TRUE, because you CANNOT. The bible is not fact. But saying "You can't prove he DOESN'T exist" is like saying "I am a teapot, using my extreme teapot skills to give out the appearence of a human being. You cannot prove this isn't true.".

Believing in something because there is no proof it doesn't exist is ABSURD.

Not believing in something because there is ZERO evidence to support it is RATIONAL.

I hope I will never have to see a "You can't prove he DOESN'T exist" post again, help me God, I'll snap. It's idiotic.

Thus, I am neither for nor against religion (in this thread). I am not against christians, but I am against that bullshit answer to the (very normal and logic) question: Prove he exists.

You can't, get over it.

I believe Jesus was his son and he died for us. Beyond that, I take what makes sense to me spiritually and apply it to my life. I don't need to explain my beliefs to you, Andres. I'm not going to try to convert you or anyone else, because, frankly, it's none of your damn business. I get substantiation because it is MY choice.

I found it absurd for an obvious reason, which you failed to get:

I believe in God and that Jesus was his son. Other than that, I take or leave it.

Before this sentence, you were saying that Not all religious people follow what some ass wrote in a book.

I found the conbination of these sentences hilarious. Why? Because there's no good evidence for Jesus, especially his divinity, outside of what "some asses wrote in a book". You essentially said you don't take the Bible as fact, but you take as fact that Jesus was the Son of God. Which is absurd, because the only corroboration this might have is that you believe the gospels are the truth, the way and the light. It's absurd, Dustin. It's parallel to this:

Not everyone follows what some stupid greeks wrote in a book.

I believe Achilles was of divine origin.

See? At least Christians can say that since they believe the Bible is true, then of course Jesus was the son of God. But you're saying that you don't follow what some asses wrote in a book, yet hold beliefs only found in the aforementioned books. How brilliant.

You know what pisses me off about this whole thing? That Mel Gibson made a movie that an 11 year old could have made. A movie that simply portrays the brutal torture that Jesus endured in his final hours. (as already written in the bible.)
Now all across the globe, religous followers are running to see this movie and Gibson is cashing in. At least when SPIELBERG the EVIL JEW made Schindler's List, he asked not to be paid.

GIBSON, YOU ARE A SON OF A BITCH.

what does Schidlers List have to do with The Passion of the Christ? Those movies are so different and Speilberg has already cashed in with plenty of movies.

... He's saying that Gibson is an asshole for capitalizing off of tradgic events of the past. Speilberg's awesome because he had the chance to do it with Schindler's List, but didn't.

I saw the movie today. I'm a religious person, but I've never known the extent of Jesus' suffering, only that he's been through it. I never cried during the film, but I was very emotionally moved and involuntairly twitching and cringing during pretty much every seen, and having chills for the rest of them. I don't feel the movie is in any way "capitalizing," and if you feel that way maybe it's because you didn't get into the movie, or didn't understand the message it was trying to send. I found it very moving.

It could be something to do with the fact that Gibson's a born-again Christian. Or so we've been led to believe, anyway.

Did Spielburg pay all his own money for Schindlers List? I don't know, because if he didn't, it can't really be compared to this. Gibson payed between 25 and 40 million for this movie... and there's no way he alone will make that much back unless it earns a few hundred billion or something.

Anyways, I think if you went in expecting an entertaining movie then you would've been disappointed... but if you went in to see that passion written in the title then it was awesome.

I'm outta here for 3 weeks... see yall.
