I've noticed this. Like, if a song is fading out at the end, it doesnt fade out nicely like the original track does, but it cuts out below a certain volume level. I think its to do with how 3dmm compresses the sound.

I haven't really found that to be the case at all, sound cues are normally the same on any computer; providing you precache everything first.

You should check out Fight 3 on a Win98 computer sometime. It synches poifectly for the first half
