Omnus by Dustin Guest
A technical marvel comparable to 2006 Vlarion. It'd almost be unfair to compare anything else made in 3DMM to this masterpiece.

Renegades by Old Rivers
We really need more historical style films. I can think of maybe one other film in this genre (if we're not counting the Iraq war as historical now)

JT's Murder Contest Entry by JT Copper
Still shocked this didn't win the contest. It had me clapping and giggling like a goon in the live stream. The writing doesn't hit, but the brilliantly animated gore and guts made up for it.

Cat Bones by Nixon
What can be said about Cat Bones that already hasn't been said? It's like an episode of The Garfield Show if PFFR took over half way through. Cute on the surface, then jaw-dropping fucked up. A perfect representation of 3DMM.

Instant electronic communication by Demodisk
A weird pick, but I've always been intrigued by Demodisk's stuff. I have to agree with Rivers in that they're not very good, but I can't stop watching them because they're so visually dense and inspiring. Hope to see more.

Murder of the Century by FunnyLuigiMan
This movie almost feels like an antithesis to the onslaught of "Mario and Luigi kill Cailou" type movies. On the surface, it looks like a shitpost, but it has a consistent amount of effort put into it all the way though. True dedication and talent is what makes a good director.

Balls by Pokerman
Nothing is more timeless than making fucked up PAMs like this. They'll always get me into Beavis mode. YEAH YEAH YEAH! KILL EM ALL!

THE DAY THE WORLD TURNED TO BROKEN GLASS by DoogLord
Honestly, music videos just don't work in 3DMM due to the low framerate and desync issues, but DoogLord still managed to make a compelling film. Very interesting concepts delivered without any dialog.

Gustave Abuse by Onnatienz
Onnatienz triumphs in.. finally getting registered on the board!

But for real, these might not be amazing but they're still hella entertaining amongst all the other movies. Can't get enough Gustave Abuse!

Augustin Burger: A Great Fighter by Kane
This is one of those rare films that I'd show to a friend to show them how fucked up 3DMM can be in the hands of a talented director. Couldn't stop laughing but I think it's just because naked Augustin is inherently funny.

Burger Chase by Nixon
I liked this one more than Cat Bones, just because it has faster paced action. I can't get over how off-the-rails this movie gets sometimes, at times it reminded me of Sgt. Steve. It's pretty much the closest thing to a spiritual successor.

Coal Killer by Pokerman
Santa has had enough, he's fucking pissed, and he's just gonna kill the kids now. A very well animated but short PAM, and a great way to close out the holidays.

I'm so glad we have such an active community, full of talented directors, new and old. Here's to a 2022 filled with great films!

This was a really good year for 3dmm, probably the best in a long time. I could be wrong, cos of course I wasn’t around, but when I had a look at the archive it felt like the last few years have only had one or two big releases max, like a Phobos Anomaly and whatnot, and otherwise the list of movies was pretty bare. Both the influx of new members and the release of 10-34 (and old members such as Nixon, Rivers, and Red still creating cool shit) have given this community a really unexpected and neat second act, and I’m glad to be around for it.

The Discord server has brought a lot of people into the community. Combine that with the contests we've been hosting, and we're guaranteed to get a decent amount of good films.
I don't wanna jinx it, but I think 3DMM is just starting to see a renaissance.

Yeah honestly if people like Plopilpy, Doog Lord, Pokerman, Pizza Luigi etc continue improving at the rate they have been recently, they could end up being as good as anyone in the history of the community.
