How is everyone?

I've wanted to write this message for a while...

It's been probably 5+ years since I posted here last. For some reason, tonight, I want to check in on everyone and say hello. How do you do?

I check on this forum once every 6 months or so, but never say anything. I've gone quiet on all social media too for various reasons (big tech bad, social media bad influence, big brother, tech addiction, etc.)

Anyway, what the hell is 3dmm now? I tried to look a while ago and it seems like it's modded to fuck. I don't understand what I see when I try to look into it. Blags my head.

Secondly and most importantly... how, and who is everyone? Is anyone capable of giving me a summary of the past 10 years or can point me to an article or recap? I see new people and what looks like older people with changed usernames. I'm a little lost. Is Ruiz still knocking about? Prof Spaz? Andre? Will Cheney? Rocko? Pikios? Tony Tuelaaaan? BR? Harris? Brad the aussie guy? Atencio? Sapone? and of course many many others...

I met BR about 4 years ago when I was in Dallas for work, the first and only 3dmmer I've met. That was awesome and surreal, and much shorter than I wanted it to be. Unfortunately, I realised my memory isn't that great and I'd forgotten many references, events and people he spoke about.

To update you on me... 10 years ago I left the UK, after getting married to an amazing girl I met at uni. We've been together since we were 20 and are 35 now... we have a dog. I love him. Oh, we have a son too who's nearly 2. He's awesome too. And I work a lot in a fairly decent and senior role as a sales manager. I love my job. It doesn't define or measure my success but it affords me a great life with my family.

I know I was a mess and posted 'hardcore' stories when i was younger. I'd love to stay given what i just mentioned about a wife, son, dog and stable job that I was more 'stable' but I'm not - I have many, many more stories since then which would have made younger me blush, but that's part of life i suppose. I suppose I'm just older enough not to boast about them now...

Anyway, in saying all of this and saying how bad my memory is, i hope I'm speaking to a group that remembers me, at least. And i hope I find you all happy and safe and doing the best you can, being your best and happiest person and if not, knowing and working towards what to do to become that.

Kisses. xoxo

whats up Jimmah. nice seeing you like 5 years ago. that was super random

umm I'm sure other people will fill you in on things but ... after the 2016 election a lot of users left and the forum sort of died down quite a bit. More recently some of them came back and we had a boost in activity, largely thanks to a movie Dustin Guest put out. Now it's sort of dead-ish again.

there's quite a few decent new 3dmm movies for you to check out, if you're interested.

congrats on having a kid!

come post in cosmic cafe if you want. just click the main page and you'll see it

yeah I think people were just annoyed at people here supporting Trump. even though we tried to move most of the discussion to Cosmic Cafe it wasn't enough for people. I guess there was just general drama here too that people were sick of

and yeah every good movie nowadays gets uploaded on youtube. just check out the 3dmm Releases forum. check out ... Spook House Massacre, too

A bunch of European 3dmmers met up in Paris, one of the biggest meetings of its kind, and were killed in a terror attack, since France has become overrun with Muslims. We lost some greats in that one, but it was an important lesson on polyculture.

guys... honestly.. i'll give it some more time but these responses are a let down.

who the fuck is this plopily guy? i don't mind so much but its weird having some out of context autist-like responses from him.

and the rest of you are cock teasing me with what is clearly a massive story but completely underselling it. like "oh yeah half the board split cus of politics" and "pozin killed himself guess you missed it".

and anthropophagus who i guess is sapone or andre (was it andre or andres?clever Mexican guy) cus they were always weird is being psychotic... that's at least consistent.

Technically we don't know that he killed himself, but that's the assumption, given his mental state and posting suicidal stuff on facebook.

We do know, he stepped in front of a train and died. He talked about doing it on here beforehand. There’s honestly no massive story; I don’t even remember how we found out. Maybe just from people commenting on his facebook or something?

There’s really no massive story involved with people leaving en masse either. Calcavade of Whimsey (ie The Hotbox, ie Midback’s Steakhouse, ie Greg’s Playhouse) was given to Tom Bown and he fudged it up and basically killed it off. Cosmic Cafe was given to me. You gotta realize the activity on these boards has really dropped off so there’s not that much going on, overall. Mostly I think people were just mad about Trump winning and stormed off in a hissyfit.

You should probably read some of the other threads of people who returned. (Edit: nevermind, I went back and read them and we explained even less to them.)

Some old timers that you'd know are still around. BR, Brossy, Sapone, Goat, Dustin, etc are still around, though it ebbs and flows. Others, like Tuna Hematoma, Qaz, and such pop in and out (or is that just on facebook? I mix that up sometimes).

At this point, the Board is just a comfortable basement that is open to all. Mostly folks you know hang out there, but occasionally someone's little brother and his oddball friends play in the corner. They're loud, but generally harmless.

3DMM still exists, but it's not like 1999 any more. That's okay. Lots of us just have kids and mortgages now, and it's fine to check in every week or so.

Hey welcome back! I have the fondest of memories of the various stories and shit you'd shared over the years.

I'm extremely inactive here and post maybe once a year. I have lost track of the name changes and the shitposting new people so it's nice to see a familiar name. I still keep in touch with various 3dmmers the socials and a couple IRL. I had a beer with Rudi recently which was great. I was IRL friends with Cade for many years but he's moved overseas.

My situation is pretty typical for mid 30s. I have a small family, built a house. I've passed the shit-show infant stage so my social life is back on track. I had a hugely positive change early last year though. For a while I'd hit a ceiling at work (software dev) because I couldn't listen to people and remember what was being said to me. I then realised I had ADHD and started Ritalin which changed my life. (only downside is that Ritalin makes alcohol feel shitty). The meds have turned things around and I've since been promoted to Tech Lead.

Jimmah! Weird how when an old timer 3dmm’er calls out another they magically appear. Like you, I check in every year or so when I’m looking for a small dose of nostalgia. It’s not like the old days, but then what is the same as it was 20 YEARS AGO!
