yeah a really shitty day and such awful news, norm was a real special dude who "got" it, he was never close to as successful as his other SNL counterparts but i hope towards the end of his life and after doing the norm macdonald show he was able to see just how highly a lot of people hold him and his comedy, a true genius of that stuff that i'm very hurting to see pass on, the world always gets that little bit shitter when people like norm die

not surprised to hear he'd been hiding it for years, i feel his appearance had been swaying back and forth a lot and he looked especially awful during lockdown when he did them selfie interview things

I was driving home from out of town today and I was listening to comedy on Sirius radio and there was like 10 back to back norm segments on, it was awesome. I ddn’t realize until I saw this thread when I got home the specials were because he died

wtf are you talking about. Norm Macdonald was on SNL, yes, but he was like the most talented one that was ever on that show. That's like a small part of his legacy and he really wasn't even on SNL that long. Also, you know what else? he got fuckin fired from SNL, because one of the producers didn't like his humor

I can appreciate norm’s weekend update stuff from SNL but It’s bottom norm material for me. I don’t know if it’s just because the jokes are dated or I prefer his more dimwitted persona he uses in other material.
