Which country will win the Olympics?

I, for one, am rooting for Guinea Bissau. However, I will always have a particular appreciation for northern countries winning at the summer Olympics. For that reason, Iceland is also on the radar.

NEW SPORTS THIS OLYMPICS:

Surfing (gnarly!)
Rock climbing (not real rocks, though)
Skate boarding (double-gnarly!)
Karate (This is the French word for the game known as UNO)

Also Baseball and Softball are back after a hiatus since 2008, so that's something.

PROPOSAL: There should be an absurd Olympics held a month before the Olympics. Yes, this is where we can have nonsensical events like Fat Race and Egg balancing on a spoon. American Gladiators should definitely be invoked.

HOWEVER, both the absurd and typical Olympics are only engaging because everyone is trying their hardest. Therefore, the Absurd Olympics will serve as the wildcard round to the Olympics. Only the top 1 or 2 athletes who JUUUUST missed the cut to make their Olympics teams will receive an invite.

Winning their heat in the Absurd Olympics will eventually lead to an entry into the Olympics (probably have one final round of standard races to finish the event). THUS, the winners of the silly stuff will actually be quality athletes who have a chance at the real games, and the host country gets to enjoy another round of solid TV.
