Brad, did you consider contributing, instead of just making post after post complaining about how it is now? Like you’re not exactly wrong but what will save that is more activity from normal posters!

Nah it's weird.

It's like hanging around a playground of squabbling kids.

It was cool when Dustin released his movie and everyone stuck their heads back in, but they've all dropped off again.

I contributed an idea that hasn't been touched. Set a bar of standard for 3dmm movies that has been lost.

Dustin Spent a few months trying to help people and answer questions. He's dropped right off and stopped trying.... because it's now kids that don't listen.

I've been posting on what I can..... but every day now it's just ABJ with comments from Kane, Old Rivers, Doog Lord and French fry. Even Sapone has stopped with his questions about random decisions and thoughts.

Not really accurate, there's another competition being made, as well as a noobs working on their own movies. The biggest problem with noobs is they prefer Discord over the board, so the majority of their conversations happen there. Nixon has been ranting about this for a while and it's understandable. I've made a progress thread to entice noobs to post more and aim higher with their movies. Marko Polo has also just returned - working on his epic looking Star Wars movie.

Also you can suck a fart out of my ass and go check the progress thread

The issue is that in 2021 message boards are just too outdated for some things. Random chats and real-time conversations are so much better on discord. It’s IRC that doesn’t look like it’s stuck in the early 90s. But of course the site is great for other things such as the movie/mod/review archives.

Posting single-sentence replies and wanting to chat in real time is hard on a bulletin board, because nobody has the time to sit 24 hours a day staring at 3dmm.com (well, everybody except me).

Discord is a messaging app, much like AIM/IRC/MSN/whatever, and it's nice because you can just spit out words and sentences and have people reply in real time, rather than waiting for replies every 10 minutes.

About 6-7 people are confirmed to be working on an entry for the latest 3DMM competition, and the few who aren't (I.E. Marko Polo, Kane, Dustin, pokerman and I) are trying our best to pump out the best flicks that we can. I mean.... I wouldn't necessarily group pokerman and I with the other three, but you get the point.

ABJ is at least... contributing, in a very minuscule way? He makes movies, albeit not very watchable ones. His threads are garbage though, and I'd love to have his posting abilities restricted to the testing forum.
