Do mods still work in Windows 10 for this game?

I have had no trouble installing mods, however I have run into an issue when using them. If I work on a movie, save it, and come back to the movie I am always unable to continue it. The game opens up to a black screen and a message pops up that says, "Due to technical difficulties we can't open this file... Otherwise, the file may be corrupt, or it may not be a 3D Movie Maker file." I have followed the advise that the error gives with no luck at all. So, if any of you use mods, does this happen to you too?

Try reinstalling v3dmm to a different directory (e.g; C:\Games)
Also, when making a v3dmm movie, make sure it doesn't have any expansions active except for the base 3DMM expansion. Start 3dmm, save your blank movie to a new file, and then reopen it in v3dmm manager. After that, you can add your expansions. This will stop v3dmm from saving to the blank.vmm file, which can cause issues.
Worst case scenario, you'll need to use a virtual machine.

C:\3DMM works too
Its own folder, on the root of the drive. Fit for a king.
