I'm tired!

My sleep schedule has been terrible! I'm waking up at 4 in the afternoon, sleeping at 7 in the morning. Too much caffeine?

If I put it on ice, it would be the most Portland-ish drink imaginable.

my sleeping pattern was recently so bad that i was sleeping at 11am and waking at 9pm, it really starts to effect you mentally after a while not being up and about during the day time

Lack of sunlight can be pretty bad for you. People who work in the far north suffer from vitamin D deficiency because its always dark outside, so they use sun lamps to mitigate it. Might invest in one for these cold winter months. Maybe supplements, too.
It's strange because I'm getting plenty of sleep, almost ten hours a day, but I still wake up feeling lethargic.

Maybe it's your mental state, I got pretty stressed with schoolwork and I couldn't sleep for hours earlier this year. It might also be something to do with medicine, like if you took a medicine that has a side effect of making you drowsy and maybe that would offset your sleep schedule if you did it early? I dunno man.

i struggle to sleep a lot of the time too. A lot of it has to do with your habits. Try to set a regular bed time, and start winding down for sleep about an hour before. Take a nice hot shower, drink some herbal tea (no caffeine). Avoid caffeine after the morning time. Avoid eating right before bed as well, eat at least an hour or two before bedtime.
One big thing people don't seem to talk about much, is how screentime affects your sleep (and mental health). Do you keep your phone, laptop etc in bed with you? If so, you should stop. Avoid screens an hour or so before bed. The blue light beaming directly into your eyes makes your body think its daytime, and also the constant stream of information is distracting and can produce anxiety. Read a book before bed instead, if you need something to do. even watching a movie is better than lying in bed staring point-blank into your phone and scrolling mindlessly. it's really easy to do this and end up staying up much later than you intend... im sure we've all experienced this...

Your bedroom should be just for sleep, or maybe a little reading with a soft lamp. Doctors call this "sleep hygiene", it's something that people often have to learn when they are in situations where they can't get much sleep and have to maximize their sleep as much as possible. You should keep all TVs, computers, phones etc in a different room than where you sleep (or deliberately turn them off/put them facedown before bed). The second you get into bed you should already be feeling really sleepy because the bed is where sleep happens. If you spend a lot of time in your bedroom NOT sleeping, then the bed becomes the place were sleep DOESN'T happen. Your brain will instinctively be like, "Oh i'm in my bedroom, time to stare at my phone or go on the computer!" Instead, stay up reading until you're actually sleepy, THEN go straight to bed. If you're lying in bed and find you can't sleep, it's better to get up and go do something until you're tired than just lay there tossing and turning (or worse, looking at your phone mindlessly).

Also, it might seem obvious but it took me a while to realize I wasn't actually making my bed that comfortable. Do you like your pillows? If not, get different ones! Same goes for the mattress, sheets, blanket, etc. Take the time to fluff up your pillow the way you like, adjust the sheets, etc. You spend 1/3 of your life lying there so try to make it comfortable! That way you wake up well-rested instead of stiff and with back, neck problems etc. For me, I need to sleep in a completely dark room that's also kind of cold. So I nailed a thick blanket over the window and I keep the fan on at night.

Do you exercise during the day? It's much harder to sleep if you sat still all day. Take up running, hiking or weightlifting and you will sleep better at night because you will actually be tired.

These are some tips you can try that helped me to sleep much better. You can also try taking natural supplements such as melatonin or valerian root.

I read Christo's post at 3AM before work. The irony was palpable.

Well, I wouldn't say its really work related. I can just pop an energy drink and be fine for what little shifts I get throughout the week.
I guess it's just a general foggyness when you wake up in the morning. The lockdown just stretches that out.

I've really gotten into sleeping for 10 hours a night. It rules.
I used to operate on like 2 or 3 hours and you really forget how great dreamin is after a while.

I found the solution. Not enough caffeine. At least one Red Bull and an espresso a day.

That's too much caffeine, French Fry. Not to mention sugar. Drink one cup of coffee in the morning at most

Caffeine tells your body to burn energy faster. If I'm not doing much, like just lounging around, the crash is hard and it carries into the next day.
But as long as I'm active, the crash isn't as hard and I feel fine the next day.
Doing a stretch routine every morning has also helped immensely.
