Violence is wrong.
If i came home and saw my life destroyed before my own very eyes I would take a long deep breath. Then another one. Maybe 1-2 more, depending on the depravity before me. I wouldn't jump to conclusions. I'd take a moment to decompress.

After untying my shoelaces and putting my shoes in my shoe cupboard I'd take off my watch, put it away, and then my jacket and hang it up.

Normally I'm quite thirsty when I come home so I'd probably have some water. Maybe juice. Maybe even a beer if it's been a stressful day at work.

Once that's done I'd sit down, and invite the suspect (hey, we don't know if he/she did the crime) to sit down. I'd treat them with respect, dignity and empathy. I'd ask them how they are, what they are doing in my house covered in my family's blood, and what kind of day they've had.

Really I think we need to understand everyone's anger. We need to appreciate other people suffer too. They might be under an immense deal of stress. Maybe bludgeoning a random family to death helped them ease their internal strife, if only for a minute. And if so, they've helped ease their own pain a little bit - right?

Don't be so quick to judge. You have no idea what other people are going through. After all, once you let them talk about their pain you might discover you have a lot in common. You may even become friends.
