Tesla discovered how to harness electricity from the atmosphere, thereby providing humanity with limitless free energy and a solution to climate change before anyone could even argue climate change isn't real. (it's technology incompatible with the modern world, so it's too late) But capitalist society meant nobody wanted to invest in this technology or even allow it to exist. And in the end, like all real geniuses, Tesla was an eccentric recluse weirdo who died broke.

Meanwhile Musk has all the investors in the world to help get humans to Mars to escape the planet we wrecked by not listening to Tesla, and he's filthy rich and enjoying his celebrity as Mr. Cool Science Hero.

Musk is just the complete antithesis of Tesla, and a hack by comparison. Their only tenuous connection is they're both figures in pop science.
