we lost power for 3 days. we got incriments of 1-3 hours of power around every 9 hours. (keep in mind it was in the 0's-20's outside so coldest days of past 10 years, and there was about 4-6 inches of snow so not drivable conditions for the state.)

I'm fine and it wasnt that big of a deal to me, but some people I know didn't get ANY hours of electricity for 3 days straight, and had no way to heat themselves. we at least got a few hours each day to heat the house before they cut it off again. I also had hella winter clothes from living up north and being Russian so I just dressed really warm and it wasnt a huge deal. I slept wearing mittens last night and it was cozy.

Several of my friends had to abandon their house/apartment and go stay with parents/grandparents who had electricity and heat, or at least some electricity as opposed to none.

Only one of my friends (who lives way the fuck out in nowhere TX) didn't lose any electricity. But yesterday his pipes froze so he has no running water at all now, and today a tree fell on his powerlines so now he has neither running water not electricity (not even for a few hours a day). Lol!

Right now we're on our fifth hour of energy, which is the most we've gotten since Sunday, so I'm hoping maybe the whole thing is over at least for our part. But the shutting off happens randomly and without warning, so there's really no telling. I'm sort of expecting it to shut off again before I finish typing this. Yesterday it shut off exactly after I finished making a cup of esprɛsso.

Thanks bud. I'm guessing that storm didn't affect you at all. It seems like we might be back to normal now.

We're just waiting to see if we'll lose power again at some point tonight, but at this point it's not a big deal because we managed to heat the house.

I think that's because a lot of pipes burst. A lot of counties have "boil water" warnings right now. Not ours though.

I'm over the whole thing. Today is going to suck because I'm all out of food, and everybody out there will be going to the grocery store at once. It's going to be a run on food and items like when coronavirus started, since everybody has been stuck inside for 3-5 days and supply trucks haven't been able to come here for a couple of days.
