Text Fading, how do I do it?

I see it in films such as Zombie (James Ballard) and A Fish is Worth 1000 Fish that are Approx 1/1000th the Size of the First Fish (Old Rivers) and I need that method, can anyone tell me how to do it?

Usually something like that is 2 or 3 separate text boxes, all with the same word. If you're starting with the black background you create a text box using either the dark blue color or grey. Then in the next frame, copy that box and paste it. Change the color to white, making sure it's placed completely over that first box. Leave it alone for as many frames as needed, then cut the white text box. In the next frame cut the grey/blue box.

Isn't figuring out how to do things like this the fundamental building blocks of becoming a better 3dmmer?

Open the movie you saw the technique in and study it frame by frame.

This will also give you an appreciation of the work required to achieve certain effects.

Then watch Litterbug 2

You should see the 3dmm Discord at times.

"How do I stop the music from playing?"

"How do I save?"

Take the McZee and Melanie tour...

Jesus christ. Steve Astill's son was finishing Duke Nukem 3d on a tablet when he was 10.

What's wrong with these kids?

Um.. Lazy kids who've been handed everything on a silver platter and awarded participation medals for losing.

I looked at the credits of Zombie and apparently, the fading text was actually a bunch of copies of the text colored and placed perfectly (which would be hard to pull off)

It's not hard to pull off, just practice and you'll get the hang of it.

I think I got the hang of it, I just put the copied text over the text and onward.

Build it up in reverse order first--- black/grey > dark blue > light blue > desired color (white?)

This is done through copy/paste. Start them all on the same scene, and as you advance a scene delete one of the layers each frame. Doing this same concept in reverse (adding a color each frame) is how you have colors advance-in before fading out.
