What the fuck is the movies page

We've gotten new members (most likely because of the dingdong festival) but all of the posts right now are just vomit-inducing. I know I make shit movies as well but these are just brain-moldingly bad. Even the movies a month ago were tolerable. Plus these brand new members keep critiquing us on how we view their movies. Because APPARENTLY they make absolute award winning masterpieces. Plus they spam movies without proper thumbnails or sometimes just flat out broken downloads.

It's just the state of 3dmm at this point. It's a little depressing to see how far it's fallen. Even some of the worst movies from the heyday look like oscar winners compared to 98% of the shit that's been released in the past 2 or so years and it's only getting worse.

We've had a influx of people who are too young to use the internet by international law (Less than 13), so they make bad quality movies, and sometimes act like trolls.

The biggest problem that I see is that so many people aren’t really considering if what they’re making is going to entertain anyone else. For all his flaws, I’ll give this to Patryk, he seems to genuinely want to entertain. He’s just not good at it. He’s not dropping some shit that’s Peter Griffin spinning in a circle and saying “this is shit lol”. There’s, like...no pride in what a lot of people are making. You can suck at 3dmm and still make an effort. Making something REALLY good takes a lot of time and energy and so few people are willing to make that commitment and churn out a bunch of shit just to say they made something.

Some of the best 3dmmers don’t have like 300 movies they shit out in 15 minutes. They have maybe. What? 5, 10 movies maybe? I see people like “oh man, I spent an hour making this!” Like, dude, I spend hours on one SHOT.

I shared this a long time ago. But watch this. It took me weeks to make this because I wanted to impress people with something I was passionate about. It took a TON of effort and it turned out almost exactly how I wanted it.

(Granted I’m not saying be like me. I spend way too much time trying to make my shit as close to the image in my head as possible, which is why everything I make seems to take years. But there IS a reasonable middle ground.)
