how do i move a character straight down

whenever i try to animate him straight down he keeps turning

edit: I mean he moves down, but he keeps turning while moving down

To animate a character straight down, hold down the mouse button like usual but instead of dragging, press and hold down the Down arrow key. Similarly you can use the Up arrow key to animate straight up. You can do near and far as well, if you have the up-and-down tool toggled on.

Does that work?
