What does copy path do?

Does the copy path tool make objects follow actors or am I just remembering it wrong? I forgot how to use it and I have the small install version so I can't use the tutorial and can't find any documentation or info about how to use the camera with the footprints

I just want the ball gag to stay with Bongo as he struggles but it gives me the following error

LMAO that picture. Jesus.

you have to animate the ballgag frame by frame with him. That copy path one doesn't really help with stuff like that.

yeah it can only copy paths that are actually "animated" by clicking and dragging with the filmstrip tool, not paths that are created by manually moving the actor/prop each frame. so it's pretty useless for anything beyond the most basic of movies.

I am also intrigued to see what this turns into!!

A trick for stuff like the ball gag (I forget if this only works for 3D works or not) is to animate one piece start to finish.

Then clone it at the start of the scene, change its colour/shape, position it, and it'll "follow" its original path.

So you don't have to animate all three pieces of the prop from scratch.

Ash is correct- and now the best way to accomplish all of that is to animate with a 3D word and use Wackydings to change it to the various props. If you animate an actual prop, you can only paste copies of that single style prop.
