What's the longest movie made in 3DMM?

Recently a Swedish Twitch streamer made a 20 minute short film in the program, which took him around 60 hours to produce (40 hours of it was livestreamed). It makes me wonder: when so many of the other movies made with this program are short, what is the longest movie made in the program? Is it the movie in question, or is there a longer one?

Someone posted this here recently, I didn't realize it was livestreamed though. It's kind of crazy to think of 3dmm being livestreamed...seems like it would be pretty boring, but maybe less so for a "simple" movie like that where the production moves along (relatively) quickly. I'd be interested in checking it out if he (or someone else) does it again.

20 minutes isn't even close to the longest move ever though. Back when people who weren't autistic children were still making movies that was a pretty standard length, many of our top rated movies are in that range, and some are much longer: Moderately Confused is 84 minutes and Final Fantasy: The Ultimate Epic is 104 and both are legitimate "state of the art" movies with all handmade scenery, etc. Root Pie is 1:52 and was...impressive for its time.

Then there's The Theater, which is 4 hours of incomprehensible autistic nonsense

I immediately thought of the infamous Bongo the Travaler, but apparently it is only 40 minutes long.

Vlarion is 80 minutes and is considered one of the best 3dmm movies of all time.

It was actually a really fun stream to watch. First of all Joel has so much character and a contagious laugh. But he had never used the program before and you can watch someone over time become a master of 3DMM. I haven't watched all parts of the stream yet, but he was coming up with the same stupid ideas I would have had when I first found out about expansions, so it has some nostalgia as well.

so this is the longest movie? or Ben Rice in a chain movie? does Ben Rice hold the record?

if 5 hours is the record, i might set out to beat that.

also, has anyone watched The Theater all the way through? kinda crazy that for such a big event in 3dmm (the review, funny bones mother, etc) nobody has watched the movie.

that 3DMM livestream is pretty popular. and i've seen popular 3DMM clips randomly show up on twitter and stuff. it kinda makes me feel uneasy when i see the general public being introduced to this, because this community has had so much happen through the years. i'm glad 3dmm.com isn't indexed on google.

Haha the ben rice thing was a joke. His part in the chair chain movie was only like 10-15 minutes long, but was the focus of much controversy at the time due to being way longer and more complex than the previous entries, making it look like he was trying to dominate the plot of the whole movie.

some highlights from the chair chain movie thread:

https://3dmm.com/showthread.php?p=1005571#post1005571

https://3dmm.com/showthread.php?p=1010389#post1010389

pages 8-13 of that thread is a pretty fun read (or post # 176-325 for those with different [wrong] page count settings)

my part was only nine minutes, the irony is that it isn't even the longest

I wish there were enough directors around to do a chain movie now. Granted, my part would end up with, like 7,000 mods and take a year to do.

you're more than welcome to do a part in the bird chain movie! although you might have to adjust your talent level down a few degrees.
