I made some stuff from clay

Ok, keep i mind most of this stuff is pretty rough and not in it's finished stage. a lot of these pieces still haven't even been in the kiln, and those that have have only gone through once. I'm still trying to figure out how color works with these because it turns out to be a lot more complicated than I anticipated and I have to take a 2nd semester just to figure that shit out.

This is some stuff I made this semester. It was my first semester working with clay so there was a lot of experimentation.

I had some 360º videos of some of these but right now my laptop is working 10x slower than usually so they'll have to wait, although they can be found on my Instagram

also there's some random drawings I did scattered in here too

(after the first firing)

(still needs to be fired)

(made this one yesterday, its gonna be colored with acrylics when its done)

I saw the little house before and I never commented so I will now - total Neverhood vibe. Good stuff.

The Sphinx is really well done, too.

Cool stuff! how long did you spend on them?

my favorite is the little house, if you take between 70-100 pictures of it from different angles and send them to jokyfoot@gmail.com I'll make a 3d scan of it and post it here

That's a cool proposition, I might do that next week! Although it may be cooler to do after the piece gets fired and I actually finish it. I was thinking about making a bunch more little village "pieces" so it connects to a bunch of little "islands" like a puzzle.

This stuff took me all semester, but each piece probably took between 3-6 hours to build, except the little brown guy who was a test piece and the first thing I made. He was supposed to be dark blue originally but the firing gave the glaze the color that it did. Next semester I'm probably going to try a new technique to color these other than glazes.

I'm not sure how easy it is to tell but most of those pieces are pretty big and heavy. Like most of them are about the size of my head.
