remem6randt EP

Hey all.

A year+ ago I was introduced to Flying Lotus and said "I gotta try that." These tracks are the experiments thereafter.

Enjoy!

I've spent the past 6 months getting into this kind of music and this is awesome. Will have a proper listen through soon and report back, but so far this sounds great.

i listened to all of them.

this style of music is about my least favorite that exists. is the purpose of this experiment just to improve your production skills or is this the new musical direction in which you are headed? i hope it isn't the latter, because i have loved a lot of your previous music and although i can tell that this stuff is all well composed/produced/whatever, i enjoyed listening to it about as much i would enjoy just listening to all the 3dmm default midis in a row or listening to hockey scores over and over. not my style at all. also (minor point), i can't tell whether or not you're parodying the use of numbers as letters by electronic musicians, because here it looks way WAY over the top and ridiculous, to the point of looking like you're making fun of people who do that.

tldr: you should go back to writing folk songs or whatever genre drivemouth was.

real nice stuff, really liking the effects used on the synths to give it the distorted dirty sound, def can hear the Flylo vibe in your drums too especially on Impressive, sounds tight
Favorite part so far is the piano with the effects on it on Perogative, lovely sound to them, part at 1:56 is tasty

really cool jazzy vibes on Impressive, really enjoying all the pianos and effects so far in the whole thing, the glitchy sound is pulled off really well too and isn't taking away from the track like some tracks tend to do by other producers.

Jessica is smooth as fuck, is that sampled or did you get a singer for that?
Really cool atmosphere and jazzy sound in the track, blends electronic and jazz perfectly, i dig it, really liking the sample cutting at parts to where it starts and stops, the ending of the track is perfect and wraps it all up great, i look forward to hearing more in the future!

This is essentially what you would probably say if you heard Flying Lotus. Would you tell them to go back to writing folk songs? I hear what you're saying, that you like his style on those, but for those who appreciate electronic music, I think this is amazing stuff.

I like the track Impressive. I find this more interesting to listen to than Drivemouth, which is a style I can't really get into. Overall I wouldn't really listen to this so much, stuff labeled "experimental/glitch" I typically don't get so into. But it is clear that you are far ahead in your music production abilities, and this made me more interested in hearing what you create in the future. I will agree that I really don't like the band name and album name. It just makes me feel like its another amateur Bandcamp musician. I know that probably sounds silly, I'm just letting you know my first impression, which matters for people randomly checking stuff out.

I'm just saying, telling someone they should stop making music in a genre because you don't like that kind of music and start making music in your favorite genre seems kind of lame. Not to derail his thread, so let me add this:

Vile of Vile is awesome and my fav.

well normally yeah, but i think this is different because i have enjoyed his previous work. if he'd been making this kind of stuff all along, then obviously that would be a stupid thing for me to point out.

Nice man we should have a proper chat sometime, I'm a bit of a newb to the genre myself

You don't understand this style of music. Not a bad thing, but it's clearly true. And that's okay, it's definitely not for everyone.

Point taken. I might just switch the name to have no numbers in it. The whole "image" was supposed to be parody of the genre, but nobody seems to be catching that. Oh well.

Thanks for the kind words.

Thanks. That was the first one of this bunch I made. I'm particularly proud of the third section in that one, I think it flows really nicely.

Ahh OK. I thought it might be that, but with the music not being a parody I wasn't sure.

Thanks man. Yeah Impressive was a breakthrough for me. And Perogative was the last track I did, and the piano is my favorite part

Ah thanks! I was totally going for that. It's..a *feel* thing, yknow? Not a melody.

Orcus is correct, it is that song - but it's actually a cover; my friend sang on it. I do have a Jessica Rabbit version laying around but it's not mastered and super illegal. Maybe I'll share it some day anyway.

Originally it was to be a side project while I worked on my folksy stuff, and hadn't taken it very seriously as an "act." But I became serious about the art, and the name misses the mark.

I've changed it to Electronic Sneaker Balloon
