random stuff

i'll post random stuff i make in here.

i just tried to copy the battlefield 1942 theme (didnt take long since its fairly straightforward), i havent done any more orchestral stuff since i got ewql over a year ago so figured id try copying something since i really know nothing about orchestral stuff. as i copied the few parts that i could hear, more parts started to sound clearer from the original track that i originally couldnt pick out, which was cool... im definitely still missing some parts though. original has more of an emphasis on certain notes.

anyway i wanted to copy that awesome solo trumpet part mainly, but im pissed at how bad ewql's solo trumpet is sounding in comparison at this particular sound, so im not even gonna go along with it

<--mine

the original sounds huge in comparison, especially that snare DANG mine sounds weak, im sure thats partially cause im not using the program to its full potential:
<--original not me

here's a beat i made the other day. i have orchestra snare drum in everything lately, there's something i love about snare

i'm probably going to tighten this up a bit and add a bit of ambiance at some point, but i think its cool

this was the 1st track on "Blip EP", which is now abandoned because i lost my favorite track from it when my old PC died. man it was a good track. oh well.

this song is OK, i like the melody, the drums aren't too good.

this is a remix of a song my friend made.

here is the original song by my friend

here is my remix

its really all over the place... 3 sections that are very different... the reason is that i started it on my old PC, which died. when i got this new one, its a pretty different setup and i wasn't in the mood to keep the same remix going, so it just suddenly becomes a different sound.

1st section, i created my own trumpet solo by chopping up his playing like crazy and transposing etc

2nd section just lots of chopping of all the instruments

3rd section no more individual instrument chopping, instead working with the full track (which imo is where i usually get a better sound, although its easier to do)
