Not.....not good. This is going to take some time to explain, but a lot of the stuff that made Big Movie 1 so good is missing here. I'm...not quite halfway through watching it yet, but it's pretty disappointing so far.

I'd be lying if I said that I didn't laugh at a few of the clips, but the majority of the submissions are basically, "Herrrre's the gimmick, in case you missed it!!" Nothing being done with it, just a head falling off, a man following red again, no clever spins on any theme. Compiling the gags together isn't itself amusing at all. Throwing in gags from Big Movie 1 doesn't really help there, either, do something with them!

But screw all that, I don't even really have to say anything beyond one point: The final punchline for one of the Augustin clips is something along the lines of, "What the fuck are you looking at, fag?" Disgrace all around.

I tried watching this, but the scenes kept randomly pausing, and some kept repeating and it didnt let me go to the next one.

I dont know how this could still be fucking up, I watched this damn thing like twice to make sure there was nothing wrong with it.

This movies release was completely anti-climactic.

anyway, here are my thoughts:

I thought the intro was pretty well done. i was surprised to see that mod represent me. the big movie forum posts floating by made me laugh, and having the STOP button at the end was a neat little hint of things to come.

the outro i thought was REALLY well done. the slow zoom on valentine and the EXIT button while all hell was breaking loose made me laugh quite a bit, especially because that whole bit had a crazy, surreal tone to it that's hardly seen in 3d movie maker..

the credits were also good. the way you did the "special thanks" part was pretty neat (haha poor aaron).

so yeah all that stuff you did a great job on, jt. my problem was really the order in which the entries were presented. i wasn't crazy about the idea of having three billy ones in a row, then three valentine ones (ect). also some of the more unique ones were shown early. having the simple ones first and then building up with the more creative and complex ones would make it more interesting i think.

all that said, i think you managed to salvage a pretty unsalvageable piece or work here. very well done!

Like I said, it was the first time I compiled something. Thanks for the comment though.

Thank you for compiling this, Copper. Movie quality aside, there's still a lot of work involved that you're unlikely to be given proper credit for

I had to read that a few times to assure myself that this wasn't an insult. (im tired, I haven't slept for 40 hours and my body will still not let me sleep)

But thanks goro, it was an extremely intense final hour when it came to uploading and official release, I honestly and literally had to heave a huge sigh of relief after I clicked the "upload movie" button. I had put a lot of hard work into this thing and in the end I hope this was all worth it to you guys.

By the way, can you add the names to everyone that submitted an entry for this thing, I dont want to be the only one taking credit for this.

[edit] watched it. i was actually surprised by how alike to the first big movie this one really was in some places, mostly with the pacing. however there are a few things i couldn't help but nitpick. one being that you did something to one of my sketches, the one where billy gets magnetized to the red planet, you replaced the buildup to it with a scene of your own, may i ask why you did that? also it felt like over 50% of this was billy in motion sketches, granted when we all first started working on this five years ago billy in motion was the sketch that had the most contributions but i imagined once copper and rivers took over they'd be adding stuff to the sketches that had hardly been touched on (e.g. the relay, what happened to that?)

overall though it was nice to watch this as a finished product, something i never thought i'd see. while i admit it's not as well put together as the first big movie, it doesn't really matter at this point, it's here at last and i for one enjoyed seeing it through to the end, remembering other guys sketches made five years ago was a lot of fun. thanks for the honorable mention in the credits btw

also, well done to you copper for keeping this thing alive and getting it done. RESPECT TO DAT.

I have this weird issue where some items in one of the font packs just slows my framerate to a crawl, and this happens as early on in the caching scene here. So I don't think I'll be able to watch it until it's youtubed.

that was me. There was a very similar entry made by some one else (i don't remember who), so I didn't want to include both. I liked the buildup in the other one a whole lot, but everything after that was done better in yours, so rather than choose one, I combined the best parts of both. That was the only major edit I made to any entries.

Also there were too few Relay entries submitted which is why that entire gag was removed.

only one scene stopped for me, I just skipped it.

overall this wasn't bad but BM1 felt much better. I blame this on motivation / quality of actual entries rather than on jt / rivers.

but I'm pretty sure the best one was left out. aaron haynes's something or other, I remember laughing so hard at it. lemme try to find it 1 sec

It's a shame one of the entries is unable to be seen, and some of the entries were just...poor. But there were a lot of them that got a laugh and the work you guys put in on this is exemplary.
