cabinchaletdecor.com

This has happened twice in the last month, both times for cabinchaletdecor.com. I know the obvious thought it that I have adware or something, but I really doubt it is that. I also have never seen a warning about being taken to the wrong site on ANY site other than 3dmm.com. This happens in Chrome. The only extensions I use are Adblock, Ghostery, Gmail Checker, and Reddit Enhancement Suite, so nothing should be causing this (they're all very popular extensions).

Weird, your installation of Chrome still might be infected. I once had seen malware redirecting me to different places only on the most visited site (that was planetquake at the time) and over google search. These things act crazy and I highly doubt that your addons nor vbulletin could create a glitch that gives the identification of a phishy site to 3dmm

i dont think so though. i scan with malwarebytes antimalware, i have MSE, im really careful with my pc overall.

cabinchaletdecor is just some random site. if you get redirect malware and search the site's name, you will pretty much always find other people having the same problem. this site has 0 mentions. and it happened randomly just with 3dmm.com.
the URL also has no referral link or anything. if it were malware, what do they think, im actually going to buy some cabin decor? all malware/adware that ive seen clearly is aiming to get a profit, either through referral linking or directing you straight to ad sites or something. redirecting to cabinchaletdecor just doesn't make much sense for any sort of adware. it also only has happened with 3dmm.com. like you said, if it took over some google searches and most visited sites, that would make sense... that's typical adware. but 3dmm.com wasn't even one of my top visited sites in chrome when this happened, and its the only site that it has happened to.

i feel like it has to be something else. i started using google DNS kinda recently but pizza said its probably not that. i also switched to verizon fios within the last year. i dunno.

I think it is Google DNS. What happens when you try again, does it work properly?

Yeah if I try again right after, it works. I did the flushdns thing and it hasn't happened since but that doesn't mean much I guess since its only happened twice. I'm switching back to my ISP's DNS now.
