You want to see something really screwed up, search for anything "Muskrat Falls" or "Bill 29" within Newfoundland and Labrador. Majority progressive-conservative government has been pushing through anything they like, despite opposition filibustering multiple associated bills and a huge public outcry. Recently sanctioning a ~$9 billion mega-project with all opposition members voting against it, despite open federal court cases, little accountability (Bill 29 allows redaction of anything released publicly), no independent regulation (that's what certain bills were passed to allow), a monopoly over the energy sector to a single company, bypassing various land rights of Aboriginal groups, mockery of democratic system, much more...
