ITT Jesterfoot draws tet tets

So, to enhance my digital painting skills, I've taken HMC's advice and gone to a few uninstructed figure drawing sessions. In this thread, I will post my progress.

Haha I love the expressive nature of some of these.

As a general advice, try not to start with the outline but build the shape from within.

man these are fun, i remember doing life drawing and finding it a drag, but i think i'd have more fun if i went to another one around now, where did you go to do these? i assume it costs money, or is there like some sort of place where you can just waltz in, draw some naked women and get out whenever

There's like a figure drawing group on every corner here in LA, they're usually in art studios, meet up once a week and cost between $10-20 for 3 hours of drawing.

My favorite group called "Dr. Sketchy's" is having a 26 hour marathon coming up soon, with a bunch of amazing models lined up one after another non stop the whole 26 hours. It's a really cool vibe too, with moody lighting and beer for sale. The female mods are encouraged to pose provocatively and often bring crazy wardrobes and masks that they slowly slip out of as the night goes on. The first bunch of images I posted are from that group.

I agree with fred about the outlines, they look pretty unnatural and chaotic.

I agree and I've been trying to improve my line quality, I was especially focusing on that on 33-45 which I think is a major improvement from the rest. But I'll continue to practice.

and these are pretty contoury focusing mainly on sillouette, but I kinda like that feel...I'll continue experimenting with different styles

also my paintings have the opposite critique of being just about color and shape while neglecting line, so I guess this is good practice for that
