I have a good friend who is a recovering heroin addict and he has told me some really good stories about his adventures in Philly. I really don't want to get specific only because I'm half asleep and not in the mood to type out a detailed story, but they include robbing random people at gunpoint, cutting catalytic converters out of cars and selling them for drug money, shooting a bum in the stomach during a misunderstanding, etc. It would make a fantastic movie if the subject hadn't been done to death.

so here's the story of the murder i witnessed the tail end of at the Imperial Inn Motel in Albequerque:
i woke up at like 3 or 4 am because i heard some dude screaming outside my room. it sounded like he was practicing death metal growls or something. i looked out my window and there was some dude prowling around on the upper balcony of the motel, just screamin and hella yellin and carrying on. he just kept yelling unintelligible things and then stomping around. i was like "huh he must be on pcp or meth" and went back to sleep. a little while later i was woken up again by crashing sounds. i looked out the window and now the dude was throwing a tv and one of those metal luggage rack things off the balcony onto a truck parked below. shortly after that, somebody called the police and a squad car showed up in short order. when the dude saw the cops coming, he yelled "I LOVE YOU (something something)" and went down and laid down in the parking lot. 2 cops showed up from the squad car & cuffed him. about 1 minute later another squad car showed up, and 2 of the officers went upstairs to check out the room the dude was staying in. they went inside for about 30 seconds and then came out gagging and coughing. they called for backup and about 5 minutes later a police van and 3 or 4 more squad cars showed up, along with 2 structure engines. the structure engines bugged out immediately once it was clear there was no fire / injuries.
the police cordoned off the whole motel with yellow tape and posted a cop outside the motel room. from that point (~4 or 4:30 am) until i left the next day at 9 am there were cops milling around. at some point they brought in a mobile crime lab.

the cops took my statement as i was leaving
