Thanks for the effort guys. Looks like I wont win by votes but I'll definitely get picked out by the jury, seeing as they're gonna pick the 5 best submissions from each round and go on from there.

BR you fuckhead, stop that shit. You might end up disqualifying me, and no I didn't hack anything. I'm just as surprised as you.

Thank you.

My last assignment for this year. I'm satisfied with all my efforts on the assignments, sure they could be better, but we're still in the learning process. This assignment is all about animation, we didn't even have to animate the face or add textures. So I definitely went all out on this project with taking on more than one character rig, making a gun and so on. The teachers basically said that they'd be pleased if there was a walk/run cycle and some body movement. I'd like to think that this might get me a top grade, but time will tell.

Been doing some animation tests, but this is my first real animation sequence with a character rig. Like I said before, I wouldn't have been able to make anything like this if it weren't for what I learned with 3dmm. So this is dedicated to the people who have taught me different animation techniques through all your movies. Sounds cheesy, but it's you guys I have to thank. I'm fully aware that this isn't exactly Pixar animation, but practice makes perfect. So hopefully I'll just get better and better.

Really nice animation Anders!
Though it looks like that sometimes the body weights A LOT, and sometimes it looks like they weight like nothing - darng I really suck at explaining this stuff

Painting bone weights is the hardest part from what I've heard. Good job.

^ This is true. Skinning a character can be quite frustrating at times but like I said, this rig is made for animators, skinned and everything. So it all comes down to my animating. I kinda get what you're saying, Eukos but I'm almost blind from working on it for so long. So a new pair of eyes always helps, but then again people have different opinions on animation. You might see something I don't and so on. All feedback is appreciated, because I really want to improve. So thanks guys

Spent a few days making a skateboard for fun. Quite satisfied with the outcome, though a bit rusty because I haven't made anything in a while.

The trucks could be a bit more reflective, and with the board so scratched up I'd expect a few notches in the wheels. Bit of texture blurring at the end closest to the camera.

Otherwise really cool stuff. At first glance I'd believe it was real.

A classmate actually said the trucks were a bit too reflective, I might've turned it down too much, either that or it really depends on the eye. As for the wheels and the ground I agree. I tend to hurry it up a bit at the end and get sloppy just to be done with it. It's a nasty habit because it's the last 10% that really matters. Thanks for having a look at it!

I see it being reflective, in terms of light, but I mean they should look a bit more chrome. To me, anyways. They could be painted trucks.

The board itself is fantastic, the scuff marks in the texture really sell it. Agreed that the trucks and wheels both need similar scratches, they look too smooth.

Another thing is the design on the sides of the wheels looks too detailed, like a large, complex image shrunk way down to a point where it couldn't realistically be painted on the side of something that small. It's admittedly hard to tell what it is exactly, but it looks detailed enough to have aliasing noise, which gives it away as 3D.

The texture on the concrete is a little too uniform as it stretches into the background, particularly in the top-right corner; maybe some kind of overlay to add non-uniform scuffs and grain? Would help with the composition anyway.

Nice work!

Sorry for not replying, but thanks for all the feedback guys! As for the wheel design Aaron, that actually is used on wheels irl but the image was very high def like you said, so that might be the issue. The ground texture was mostly just drag and drop, I was originally going to put on some bump maps and such but I got caught up in rendering and just wanting to get it out there. Like I said, it's a nasty habit.

Now on to something new! Our school assignment is to make an animatic from scratch. Concept art, character design, storyboard, 3d model, lighting and animatic. Set in the 1930 Mafia era. Minimum two characters, and hopefully I'll be able to make them stylized like this in 3d. Really excited to see how it all turns out!
