Augustin Burger Competition
 

This is so weird it's like a fever dream.
We got 7 submissions from newbies and seniors, nearly an hour long, and some of the best 3dmm content in a long, long time and it's all for the Augustin Burger movie contest.
It's pretty crazy how something so silly became just incredible and it really makes me hopeful, and excited about the future of 3DMM.
This is the final Discord competition of the year we're doing, and it's great we are coming out with a bang.

Congratulations to all the contestants! This was a really good contest and the bar for entries was really high. Top 3 well-deserved imo.

Some excellent stuff in this comp. Plop's entry was great, a well deserved 3rd! Nixon obviously has outdone himself with Burger Chase. Cat Bones and Baby Faces are now a thing of the past.

Some of the ratings in the reviews are wrong happens for two reviews one for Rivers and one is Nixon and I apologize for it, spent about 4 hours on this at night in one sitting and was really sleep deprived. This didn't affect the final scores thankfully

many thanks to the judges for their kind words about the movie and giving me first place, and to everyone who stuck around to watch my long one right at the end, either way the hour flew by enjoying everyones flicks, reading the reviews, an all round quality time!! i hope this whole experience inspires all the animators involved to keep working on and releasing great movies!! patryks mum doesn’t know what she’s missing!!

I rewatched this a couple days ago. Good work all around!

Toonsville - I'm glad these contests have summoned Deakin back to 3dmming because all his entries have been good. This one might not have been quite as well animated as his Sci-Fi contest entry, but I think I liked it the most just because of how Jack Deakin-ey it felt.

Old Rivers - One of my best works! Not sure why it got such a lukewarm reception.

BagelMan - No idea who this guy is. His entry was pretty bad, but not unwatchable. I like that KFC is trying to make a franchise out of an Augustin Burger which is already located next to another KFC.

Plopilpy - Well animated and feels very Nixon-ey. Did we really two credits sequences, though (each with their own post-credits scenes)??

Autistic British Jackass - Started off not too bad, but then just sort of fizzled out. But I definitely give him credit for the voices.

Red Scorpion - Excellent animation and creative use of actor fonts! Pretty funny too. I don't know what the deal is with that music that plays when he gets shot, because the exact same musical cue was done in Drunk Chain Movie when Jason Ruiz gets shot.

Nixon - Well animated, fast paced, decently funny, and predictably perverted. Basically the quintessential Nixon flick!

This was a great contest! I think I liked Nixon's the most, though Red was a strong second. My only gripe is that almost everyone used text-to-speech voices. I understand with Toonsville because that is sort of his style, but why on earth did known voice actors Nixon and Red Scorpion use text-to-speech software?? Especially ones that are based on real tv characters. Come on, that's basically the voice acting equivalent of all those newb movies that star nintendo characters, family guy characters etc. Patryk deserves a commendation for doing his own voices. Also, I'm starting to get a little of those Dustin Guest city props being in so many movies. Anyway, despite all that, this was a very fun watch! Definitely didn't feel like 50 minutes.

Oh yeah, how the hell did multiple people decide that green shirted Bo and his cheeseburger sidekick should be the villains?? Is this some famous Augustin Burger lore that I don't know about?

i figured the voices i used were generic enough to get away with, and complimented the type of character i was trying to portray (minus jerry seinfeld, but i thought it'd be funny having him say the F word 10 times a sentence given that he never swears in real life), the dad sounds nothing like steve austin either so he kinda has a voice of his own, i understand peggy hill being recognizable but at the same time its a black lady on screen so i figured most minds wouldn't catch that

anyway i can imagine my flick would be a lot worse if it was just me doing a ton of voices, it'd probably be a bigger flaw to you than the text to speech stuff i used

I thought that the characters using the voices of Carl Wheezer, Hank Hill, and Jerry Seinfeld were hilarious I’m thinking of using Uberduck in future movies myself

Yeah count me as one who really enjoyed that kind of TTS voice when it was used

Speaking of My entry for this contest, I’ll be doing the Christmas episode of Augustin Burger Mania with Augustin and his crew saving Christmas from Bo, so watch this space.


The fact Bo became a villain to Augustin Burger was inspired by Rob Willis’ second Augustin Burger movie where Bo opened Bo Burger restaurant which Augustin was shocked with, and the cheeseburger Sidekick character was also inspired by when myself and some friend of mine from college used to team up to make some off-kilter animated movies when I was at college made with Windows Movie Maker featuring trademarked characters which was kinda bit lame.

Even though this is the longest contest we’ve done it feels like the shortest to sit through cause there’s just so much good stuff in it

naked (semi naked) guy will win yes! I think that the movie is good because he actually has voice actors and isnt hiding in the shadows (no shade [no pun intended]). Epic movie 10/10
