I know this question will seem tasteless, but it's genuine.

If I made a request to have my real name and even my screen name scrubbed from the forum, would it even be possible and would any mod be willing to oblige?

There's nothing tasteless about privacy.
Space Goat might be able to help you with this, while I would have to edit everything manually, he could run a script. Also, super mods can't edit your username.
