kids trying to watch porn through a scrambled cable channel

having to deal with guys who play with hackey sacks that listen to pearl jam

pro wrestling being well liked

Dungeon Snake 11-27-2016 05:29 PM

lol scrambled pay per view porn. that's a good one

you'd have to sneak into the computer room late at night to use 56k to look at porn o nthe computer. and the sites weren't well established either so it was kind of a crapshoot. the pictures took a long time to download and you didnt have much time so you'd have to be judicious with what you downloaded. then you'd have to carefully erase all the evidence

Izak MD 11-27-2016 05:42 PM

90s had lots of speculative buying

trading cards, comic books.... everyone pretty much thought they'd buy some piece of shit baseball card and it would be worth millions someday

Dungeon Snake 11-27-2016 06:26 PM

a shitty playlist on napster with like 1 song by each band, and the bands are all things like evanescence and POD. and you listen to it repeatedly over and over, occasionally adding a new song. and for some reason it also has like some internet song like "the Ultimate Showdown" or something a 3dmmer made

Yeah this. Let the bodies hit the floor, Fade to Black by Metallica and a bunch of slipknot always reminds me of this

Evil Ash 11-28-2016 04:39 AM

Those few golden years when home computing was still relatively new & authority figures such as parent or teacher were easily impressed by your ability to do basic tasks like run a ms-dos command. They told you that you were a computer genius & the "next bill gates". Sound familiar?

Now Web 2.0 is here and your skills have no place in the brave new world.

this was caused by shitty plastics that used a fire retardent chemical. they can be restored by letting the plastics sit in hyrdrogen peroxide overnight.

90s problems?

Kelly Kapowski isn't 18 yet.

That point when you stop letting your parents dress you and come up with your own fashion choices:

Fist 12-09-2016 06:29 PM

It's Saturday and the Keller Twins are having a party. Absolutely everybody's going to be there, but you can't go unless you can't go unless you get all your chores done first! And you've got to Get Ready! And you've got to get your mom's stamp of approval! And you've got to get it all done by 6:00 PM.

How about positive aspects of the 90s?

For sure people will say the same about Computer Guys come ten or fifteen years

Nokes 12-09-2016 06:54 PM

I wouldn't watch those grown-up shows, I was watching the newest episode of Pokemon.

Shaun 12-10-2016 02:12 PM

recipe for a winning TV show that people remember:

characters with memorable names:
Homer, Bart, Marge,... Kelso, Hyde, Fezz,... Erkel... The Fonz, Potsy... Kramer,... Chandler... Fraiser, Niles... Cartman, Chef,... Beavis & Butthead... Wally, The Beaver... Carlton... Sheldon... See you already know what shows these people are from. Nobody remembers characters Jeff and Mike.

stupid gags that no other show has done:
Simpsons - couch gags
70's show - the 360 camera pan when they're all stoned
Family Guy - cut-aways to pointless "jokes"
Family Matters - DID I DO THAT
South Park - main character dies every episode
There are probably more but I hate television

also you need a B- or C-list celebrities in the supporting cast
It doesn't really matter who, so long as people say, "Oh hey! I know them!" Their presence on the show has to feel like a special treat. That's the key. So don't write them into every episode and if possible get someone that's not in television or movies. Like Steve Balmer would definitely make guest appearances. He'll attract tech nerds to the show. Then get like, Tom from Blink 182. Bam! Millennials are watchin'.

Computer Guys is gonna be awesome

French Fry 12-10-2016 08:17 PM
