can someone please post a screenshot of all the 3dmm objects?

my 3dmm isn't working and need to them

if someone could just open up 3dmm, go to the object list and take a screenshot of each page and post it here that would be helpful

awesome thanks! tomorrow will be a 3dmm photogammetry scavenger hunt

Phil Williamson 09-06-2015 06:01 AM

what does that mean and why am I already at half mast?

Jesterfoot 09-06-2015 06:08 AM

basically my renewed enthusiasm for 3dmm 2 is all hinged on a new technology (apparently only 1000 people worldwide know about) that allows you to create 3d models just by taking pictures of the object from different angles. I've been honing my skills for over a month and now I'm really fucking good at it.

from yesterday:

I've already got a decent library built but I thought I might include some revamped classics just for the hell of it

soon screenshots from 3dmm films will look like photographs

Awesome! I could definitely need props

yeah, definitely want to see more.

Photogrammetry is rad af but hard as shit without a perfectly diffused lighting setup (and luck). I dabbled with it briefly, but found it impractical for most things that I would actually want to capture.

I've been testing out different workflows to create the best quality objects. Here's something I whipped up just now from a scan:

Holy SHIT dude. That's awesome

Here is another that shows the different textures you can make:

Here's how to do this:
1) take over 100 photos of a well lit object/scene from different angles
2) Download Autodesk Memento (currently free since it's in beta)
3) process the photos through Memento, when it's done export as an FBX (you might want to decimate the mesh since it starts out with about a million polys.
4) Download the Substance Painter Trial
5) Paint on some cool textures (they have simple presets like concrete, rock, steel, gold, but it's very versatile and you can make whatever texture you can think off
6) Upload to sketchfab

The reason why I use substance painter is because scans look like shit when any kind of lighting is applied
