New Vine BBCode Tag
 

The new vine tag is for embedding streaming video from vine.co into your posts.

Similar to the youtube tag, it accepts either the video hash string or the full URL as the BBCode parameter.

Examples:

i don't 'get' vines. it's such a tiny step from a short looping youtube / a .gif with sound. i mean i guess that format didn't exist before, so it's filling a vaccum, but i dunno, just seems like one app too many in a really saturated market with not quite enough new stuff going on to make it worthwhile.

but new functions keeping 3dmm up with the times are great so, just so i don't seem like a negative asshole; thanks goat!

yeah i had typed a post that i didnt post but i guess now i have posted it once i press post after typing what i was going to post:

i deleted vine from my phone just a few days ago because it hadnt been opened in like two years. i didnt even realise it was also a website until i saw this thread. i followed like riff raff and a couple random people but nobody i know uses it and its not a good delivery system for entertainment or information so it really has no use...

it's the Twitter of videos. I wish I'd thought of it first :(

vine is huge. yes its just really short looping clips, but like twitter, it forces people to do what they can within heavy restrictions, and makes it super easy for anyone to upload whatever nonsense they want to record. and for people that actually follow people and watch videos on it they know that they never have to endure a video longer than their short attention span can handle. but yeah as someone who doesnt own a smartphone and views all on my PC, its pretty pointless, and i typically only see vines once they are re-uploaded to youtube.
