Anyone watching this on netflix at the moment? Really liking it so far.

Watched the first 2 and a bit eps. Parts were good but so many of the jokes were just terrible. Like Aaron Paul going "It's time to...CANNONBALL!" *jumps onto and breaks Horseman's bed* ".....time to buy you a new bed!" But apparently it gets really dark and such which interests me so I'll probably watch it all sometime soon.

I feels like I'm watching a Disasturbation cartoon from 10 years ago...

yeah I watched the first 2 episodes today. Pretty funny. It's one of those shows that's funny and good but not sure if I want to watch the rest of the season or not. Ugh, don't want to agree with bown, but yeah, so many bad jokes, but so many subtle smaller jokes that really work. It seems to really cater to the late night stoner crown (ugh) but some really good jokes that work despite it's lame premise. This seems like a show a 3dmmer would come up with.

The jokes are really rapid fire, so some are bound to miss. I'm on episode 6 at the moment and I've found it pretty enjoyable. I've laughed out loud a few times, mostly though its kept me entertained. I love the opening animation and concept. Voice acting is pretty decent. There are some story arcs that cross episodes, which is unusual in an animated series like this; something I think was only possible due to the way it is released. I like that though. Overall I'd say it has potential to turn into something great.

Like others have already mentioned, it kind of reminds me of Ruiz's older Disaturbation stuff.

Okay i've watched the whole thing twice now and thought it was really great.
Hit and miss at times but the majority of the best jokes land and the general premise and backstory of the characters was great. The lead up to the final episodes it sort of goes a bit dark and depressing, especially with the eternal sunshine of the spotless mind themed episode but it holds itself high and for a netflix original really shows Netflix know what they're doing.

For me the best jokes have been the background animal related jokes.
Eg. sloth keeled over the treadmill at the gym, wolf in a sheeps jumper at the wedding, Mr Peanut Butter being so happy and excited by everyone and trying to be everyones friend and being stupid, like a real dog.

watched the first five episodes, I'm enjoying it so far. it's not hysterical but it has its moments. like james, I'm finding myself laughing more at the animal themes background jokes. the man in the diner apologizing to the waitress cow for ordering a steak made me lol

This is my new favorite thing to fall asleep to in the middle of the afternoon

WAY late to the party on this, but a friend convinced me to watch this on Saturday. Fucking awesome show. I want more Charlie.

This show never really became all that funny to me, but it did become really good. Definitely gonna watch season 2.

Am I the only person who can't watch an animated show if they don't like the animation? Cuz that's the reason I haven't watched this. It looks like BoJack Horseshit. [/zinger]

best part of season 1 was when they dropped the f-bomb with Stanley Tucci's character.

Man, was that potent.

I just love it for how it goes from being really, incredibly goofy and then pretty dark, considering it's about a horse-man.

Also, the animation and some of the character styles remind me of Ruiz's stuff.

I didn't really get the whole "holy shit this is suddenly all emotional and dark!" feeling from it as it went along like some people did, but I still thought it was a pretty good show. not one of my favorites, but entertaining / nuanced enough to keep me interested

Season 2 starts off much the same way as 1 but probably a little better. But it still has a lot of terrible jokes. There's a bunch of good lines too but stuff like “I’ve got two days, I can do all those things!” *TWO DAYS LATER* “Oh shit, I didn’t do any of those things!” is just so lazy and like they didn't write past a first draft.

Ok a few more eps in and this is a big improvement on season 1. I like it a lot

I like BoJack. It's not super hilarious or artful in how it gets to its major points or ideas; but those major points and ideas are great.

season 2 was a lot of fun. yeah weak moments comedically but now and again some great character moments so i think it balances out to well written

Yup I was a huge fan of the show by the end. Game show episode and "Escape from LA" were my favourites.

exactly! the whole escape from LA thing, when i say the show had great character moments- that whole storyline is basically what's in my head.

the fact that the show manages, tonally, to go from "lol todd has his own theme park" to that horrible moment when the deer woman walks out of the house and there's a light on in the boat and you feel so dissapointed and urgrghh. i was really impressed. it's an interesting show that can have both of those moments feel like they're comfortably in the same world

been hearing a lot of good things about this show but never bothered to check it out

This. 100%. I won't even give an ugly show a chance, because it's not like I need it in my life. Animation/design, to me, is way more interesting than story or even humor. Obviously it wouldn't be much of a symphony with just one instrument, but c'mon now.

Is that why there are people who still like a lot of the really shitty but admittedly well-animated Don Bluth movies like Anastasia

(actually I haven't seen most of them, the subjects just don't interest me at all)
