I've heard of occurrences where some troops were told they would return before Christmas but were held at their posts for many months after, some indefinitely. What do you think about this, do you think it's fair?

however, it may not be fair on some occasions, I see where you're coming from. But my branch of combat isn't to hold positions for weeks on end. From the soldier's view, it is good to know you have concern about this.

Where'd you get stationed?

I've heard of occurences where troops were told they would return before Christmas and returned a few days later after being blown up by an IED.
