Deus Ex is the best game ever. If you haven't played it, get that right away. In my opinion, that game will never age... there's been nothing as solid as it since it was released (as far as PC adventure games go).

Team Fortress 2 is $20 and worth it. Orange Box is $30, of course thats even more worth it.

Cave Story

Find a good Roguelike. They're small and will run on the crappiest of computers. Assuming you don't have any PC games because yours isn't fast enough.

Wrap your xbox in towels and switch it on and leave it to overheat. Switch it off and back on again and it sometimes works.

Or if you send it back to Microsoft, they give you a free month of Xbox Live Gold!

this works yeah but it only works for a limited time, and only fucks up your xbox even more

do what i did and send it off to get 'repaired' (they blatantly just give you a new one) for free, unless you've had the xbox for over 3 years, in which case oops!

Cave story

I've been playing the Doom Roguelike for the past hour or so. It's pretty damn fun. I found a combat shotgun and used it to clean up a Hell's Arena challenge. So now my character is hauling enough rockets and energy cells to blow Hell a new arsehole. Plus I've got like 300 shotgun shells on me.

I have no idea how good it is in comparision with other Roguelikes, but some of the folks at uni (myself included) were hooked on Crawl (Stone Soup) a while back

...pokemon mystery dungeon is an alright roguelike...

or Tribes 2, it's a fine shooting game thats free for download, but you need to have bought it while it was still popular to go online
