81st Annual Academy Awards - Oscars - 2009
So... best opening ever. Hugh Jackman made me piss my pants.

WALL E BETTER WIN THIS

|
Damnit, I have to watch it like tomorrow because I can't see it live in this damn country.

So... I guess I should see Slumdog...
What is that, six Oscars now? Edit: And what's with Benjamin Button winning Visual AND Makeup? Benjamin totally deserved visual, but not makeup as well. Hellboy II for the win. |

I want Mickey Rourke to win DAMNIT.
Edit: Sean Penn, ppffff. Gay = Oscar. On a side note I havn't seen Milk. |
what the fuck
|
I hate when a single film sweeps up like that. It just makes everything so anti climactic.
|
things I was sore about:
Wall-E should've won best song and best score. Did you hear that snippet from the score? Fucking gorgeous. I haven't seen Milk just yet, but I was really rooting for Rourke. That 80 year old chick who was talking about Meryl Streep. Who the fuck/ugh disgusting. I was overly satisfied with the entire show though |
I really doubt that Slumdog Millionaire was this year's best movies. I haven't seen any of the other nominees, but The Wrestler was definitely better, for one. I feel like people are willing to overlook some huge flaws in Slumdog Millionaire because it's so "creative" or "outside the box" that they wouldn't look past for another movie. Eh. It was good, but nowhere near this good.
|
that opening is awesome!

I can see where you're coming from, but I respectfully disagree. I loved The Wrestler too, but I think Slumdog's storytelling, direction, acting, music etc etc etc etc were far superior than ANYTHING I've seen all year. Or a few years. |

It was really hard for me to watch them this year, I kept switching the channel hoping I'd just see who won. Why? Because of all the fucking televised ass kissing they called "honoring" each nominee before fucking announcer the winner. Were they afraid of hurting the losers' feelings?
They're nominated for fucking Oscars, they don't need to be told how good they are. Talk about an ego boost. Though, some of my friends, like Kevin Vilikus, liked how they had peers to honor them. Just didn't sit well with me at all. |
The academy is kaka. If I ever were nominated for an academy award, I'd pull a Jim Carey and go up there all cracked out looking, and go on a rant about how god sucks and everybody there is a kiss ass bitch. Of course I would need to do all of this quickly before they brought the music in.
I hate it when people go up there and thank god. Yeah, god wants you to win an academy award as much as he wants certain babies to be born inside out. |
