New Host for 3dmm.com

Greetings everyone, thanks for being patient with me over the past 24 hours. Due to all the downtime and other connectivity issues we've had over the past year or so, I've finally pulled the plug and moved us to a new web hosting service. If you're reading this, then that means your DNS cache is pointing to the new nameserver and everything is working properly. It usually takes about 24-48 hours for DNS changes to propagate around the world, so not everyone will be able to access the site from this new host immediately. So if you know anyone who is having trouble logging in, tell them to just be patient. It sometimes helps to flush your DNS cache if '3dmm.com' is still resolving to the old IP address. This can be done by either rebooting your PC, or by typing 'ipconfig /flushdns' in a command window.

Let me know what you think of the new server!

I forgot to mention, a few posts that were made this afternoon were lost, because they were made after I had migrated the database. Sorry about that. I don't think it was anything too important (movies, mods, etc).

POPE!

I'm working on fixing the database errors. I think I know what the problem is...

OK, I think I've fixed all the database errors. Please let me know if you still see any, and more importantly, where you see them.

aw weak why were my DNS servers so slow

Space Goat 10-06-2008 10:30 PM

I'm already seeing a pattern of intermittent database outages, occurring about once a day for about 15 minutes. We may have to move again if it doesn't improve...

The database outages seem to be decreasing, in fact, I haven't seen any in the log files for the past couple days, so I think we're in good shape. Let me know if any of you have complaints.
