Psychoholiday Uploader Status

As of May 16th, Pirate Balloon's Psychoholiday uploader service has ceased to be. You can read more about the reasons for this here.

This unfortunately leaves us without a privately run uploader service that is dedicated solely to the 3dmm community. Until a reliable replacement is established, we ask those of you without alternative hosting of your own to use public uploaders like Rapidshare, Megaupload, or Media Fire when linking to files within your new "movie" or "mod" posts. Myself, or another forum moderator, will mirror the file(s) on 3dmmfiles.com (at most) several days later.

I have already migrated most of the "movie" and "mod" files that were previously only available at Psychoholiday over to 3dmmfiles.com. This should fix any broken links that would otherwise be a big problem when browsing these sections of the site.

In case you are not aware, 3dmmfiles.com is 3dmm file storage space that I set up two years ago with the intent to someday turn into an uploader serivce. I will continue to maintain 3dmmfiles.com as a reliable mirror for the entire duration that I maintain 3dmm.com. It's possible future as an uploader service is still undecided.

Sendspace is fairly reliable for files too.

Mabdog 05-18-2008 09:18 PM

that.. really sucks

Liam Brocklehurst 05-18-2008 09:24 PM

...Bjorn has a 3dmm uploader.

Quote:

Very simple alternative uploader. Choose the folder "3dmm Community", type in password "thelegendarypenismonster", choose the file you wish to upload, click "Upload". If you've done it wrong you will get a red error message, if you've done it right you will get a blue message containing the link to your file!

I used to mirror files onto psychoholiday and edit the links into the thread on the sly, so i'll do doing the same thing with this. 48 hour mirror guarantee!

http://www.filefactory.com/ is a hell of alot less pissy about downloading files without an account than rapidshare. If it helps.

I will have this hosting for at least 1 more year (I just signed up). Everyone feel free to use this, but your files will MOST LIKELY be taken down after 1 or 2 years.

Ugmo Inc also has an 3dmm uploader:

http://ugmoinc.gavinowers.com/uploader/upload.php

Bown 06-24-2008 08:10 PM

Which will probably be moved soon cos we're moving off Gavin's server to our own one so don't upload anything on there you want to keep long-term

Kevitus 06-25-2008 09:41 AM

Link the uploader button to Lohr's uploader.

Slime 06-25-2008 06:36 PM

Actually I like it being a tiny bit underground, please don't... maybe in the future.

Slime 09-17-2008 08:37 PM

My bandwidth and free space haven't approached anywhere near 1/4 of their limits, so if you want, go ahead and link the Uploader link up top to:
http://chrislohr.net/uploader

Again, this domain MIGHT expire May 10, 2009, but considering the amazingly reliable, fast, and cheap hosting I've been getting from InMotion, I will probably renew for a 2nd year.

Bown 09-17-2008 09:05 PM

:) !!

You should add vmm as an accepted file format too.

Slime 09-17-2008 10:36 PM

OK, any other formats? I'll add anything. Currently allowed:
jpg,jpeg,png,gif,bmp,txt,3mm,vmm,zip,rar,mp3,wav,m ov,avi,mpg,html,htm,vxp

I've allowed htm / html files for anyone that wants to host a website on there (two people are already doing this).

edit: just added VXP

bl0ppin 09-18-2008 01:40 PM

Swf would be nice please :)

Slime 09-18-2008 01:54 PM

Good idea, added

Nixon 09-21-2008 05:54 PM

why the f*ck is it taking me 45 minutes to upload one movie on sendspace?

bl0ppin 09-21-2008 05:58 PM

Answer: you are using Sendspace.

Jesterfoot 09-21-2008 06:08 PM

use the one we've been talking about in this thread.

Jayrod 09-27-2008 02:13 AM

Why is ChrisLohr.NET not working? Is it being worked on, or is it just not working? :uh

Slime 09-27-2008 02:17 AM

I haven't seen my site have downtime yet.

This is rare. I don't know what is up. I can't log into my account either. It was just working half an hour ago.

Jayrod 09-27-2008 02:21 AM

neither work for me... just says "Page cannot be found!"
edit: Oh, okay
edit2: Yay, no more error :)

Slime 09-27-2008 02:22 AM

yeah youre right, it was my cache that was causing it to work. I'm sure they are just performing maintenance. I can still access the FTP fine.

Jayrod 09-27-2008 02:25 AM

oh I see, well theuploader is fixed. Don't know for how long though.

Slime 09-27-2008 02:26 AM

That was the first downtime I've ever seen, and it only lasted like 10 minutes, so no need to worry :)
