Hybrid machinima showcase: Doomguy shoots imp with shotgun

1 Attachment(s)
It seems that nobody got the hybrid 3DMM/Machinima concept. But, I am showcasing it with this movie:

Denny Betterman 12-18-2007 05:36 AM

blblbl you ding dong, just because people disagree with a bad idea because it's a bad idea doesn't mean they don't GET it. And has anyone else noticed that this person never listens to anyone and always just argues back without thinking about anything

the stupidest part is that every clueless thing he says sprawls out into multi-page threads despite the fact that clinton's brain is incapable of learning from others or rational thought

we really need something better to do on this bored

Mabdog 12-18-2007 05:37 AM

ok, what the hell is machinema? seriously

That's the aspergers I guess

Kale Monster 12-18-2007 08:46 AM

THATS ENOUGH ABOUT THE BRIDGE!

Phil Williamson 12-18-2007 12:33 PM

I...guess this might be useful occasionally, but it's not like it's gonna REVOLUTIONIZE THE PROGRAM and needs to be proclaimed as the salvation of 3dmm

Cubert 12-18-2007 01:24 PM

Yeah, this kind of innovention isn't completely useless, but far from demands it's own "showcase movie".

bl0ppin 12-18-2007 04:43 PM

Man alive, the transition between Doom and 3dmm was seamless!!!1

In all fairness though, if you want to do this kind of thing, go ahead and do it, but, PLEASE stop trying to pressure people into seeing it as some important, radical new method.

Air Rick 12-18-2007 05:28 PM

hahahah wtf

Mabdog 12-18-2007 06:09 PM

to tell you the truth, I don't hate this. It looks fine to me.. the others are just bitching because they already hate you. I think this is a fine idea, but you could pretty much do the exact same thing in only 3dmm.

Air Rick 12-18-2007 06:18 PM

not necessarily true.

Do I think the idea is good in concept? Sure

Do I think that this particular piece executes said concept well? No. The transition is painfully obvious, the frame rate even more so. Perhaps if the film didn't revolve around a guy shooting, but instead some sort of dialogue where the cutaway/closeup would be necessary, then this would have worked.

Understandable that you can utilize 3dmm to get those shots that you would never get in certain programs, but this doesn't scream "showcase." It's pretty basic.

Dude, if you recognize the fact that those jackasses hate me, just back me up on this bullshit since it might prove that somebody is "on my side"!

Well, if I am going to showcase "innovative" ways to splice film to different movie making programs, simplicity is sufficient enough. I don't think this is too trivial of a short as it showcases a rarely used way to finalize a project.

bl0ppin 12-18-2007 07:53 PM

hahaha do you really want Mabdog on your side? Also, goddamn, can't you edit things into 1 post?

Does what Clinton said right there actually make sense structurally...or am I just over-analyzing the text to the point where, it just looks like it doesn't?

bl0ppin 12-18-2007 08:01 PM

I think what he's saying is, as long as he is showing his new method of moviemaking, it doesn't need to be amazing or complex.

Air Rick 12-18-2007 08:05 PM

no no no, i understood what he meant, but just the sentence:

"simplicity is sufficient enough."

I don't know, the way it's written...it looked weird to me...nevermind.

Phil Williamson 12-18-2007 08:23 PM

it's redundant, and wrong in the sense that he should have said "a simple example," not "simplicity." but who cares.

Slime 12-19-2007 12:53 AM

This example is dumb... why is there a random green background, as someone said in the Youtube comments?

Raz 12-19-2007 12:58 AM

clinton, the only reason people aren't interested in your ideas is because you're the only one any of them appeals to. it's nice you're trying to be productive and stuff but why don't you go and make a movie incorporating all these things instead of making a bunch of threads saying "HEY LOOK GUYS WE SHOULD DO THIS".

Well, people have been flaming me in these suggestion threads, so I though having a short showcase of something I had in my imagination would prove why its so cool to have unique concepts in 3dmm.

Raz 12-19-2007 02:20 AM

but man...that hasn't proved anything.

Extend these ideas to a full movie and people would maybe listen a bit more.

Air Rick 12-19-2007 05:28 PM

okay, summary Clinton. So take this, embed it. Write it, put it on your wall above your bed, study it daily:
