Personally, I think the mustache could be a little better. I mean, I know Patrick has a mustache that is flat on the bottom, it it might look better if there was a little texture to it. Like, kinda slightly like there is hair. But other than that, this RULES! SO HARD! OMG!

Allergic 2 Life 09-27-2007 09:20 PM

yup

Mabdog 10-08-2007 06:35 AM

Bump

Mabdog 10-08-2007 06:35 AM

any news?

Liam Brocklehurst 10-08-2007 09:57 AM

Ah, sorry, I've been stalling on the hands for a while now... Plus it's not been the only thing I've been doing.
I'm at a wall with a few things at the moment; this, my 3dmm movie, etc. But I'm sure something will happen sooner or later :p

Anyone got a low-poly hand they want to let me use?

Liam Brocklehurst 11-08-2007 06:13 PM

BUMP.

Modelled the hands and changed the proportions a bit more. (tell me if they need tweaking) :)

Modelling is pretty much complete, I'll be sorting stuff out from here on (textures, etc) and post a beta up soonish for crits and what-not.

Phil Williamson 11-08-2007 06:31 PM

his head looks tiny, probably mostly cuz of how big it is on the original Patrick...but I still think you went a little far in downsizing it. I think the proportions of the previous one are better.

Liam Brocklehurst 11-08-2007 08:33 PM

I used this

as a guide, and it fits pretty good, but I mean, if the head is looking pretty small to a few people, I'll fix it of course.. heh.

Lord Blazer 11-08-2007 08:56 PM

In the original his hair made up a solid chunk of head, so I think that's why it looks small. Either upgrade his hair or upgrade his head.

Liam Brocklehurst 11-08-2007 09:25 PM

How's this looking?

Qaz 11-08-2007 09:29 PM

That's better. I think we're just used to Patrick with a big head. Shouldn't you model his size on him in 3dmm on not a real person?

Slade 11-08-2007 09:33 PM

The legs are a bit thin, hands possibly a little bit too big. Other than that though, <3.

I went through each body part with reference from the original Patrick actor and then used the human reference to size things up...
I did originally have the proper proportions, but they're shown earlier on in the thread as a big-headed/kid looking-ness. I've scaled his head up a bit and filled out his legs a bit more, but I mean, you can change stuff in 3dmm if need-be I guess..

Liam Brocklehurst 11-08-2007 09:53 PM

Messing around.

Might start re-doing the face textures in a bit...

EDIT: Awesome 1,000 post, ya think?

Lord Blazer 11-08-2007 10:09 PM

OH SHIT THERE IT IS. His shirt collar still looks all dumb and 3dmm-like.

Jim Raynor 11-08-2007 10:26 PM

Aside from the gay picture in the background and the pointyness of his fingers, that's not too bad.

Liam Brocklehurst 11-08-2007 10:31 PM

Thanks for calling my artwork "gay".

Haha.

Bown 11-08-2007 10:40 PM

to be fair that picture is pretty fucking gay

Liam Brocklehurst 11-08-2007 10:44 PM

touché

James McCloud 11-08-2007 11:42 PM

that's so awesome i can't evne fucking

bravo

edit: The lighting looks very good. Aside from other niggles that others have pointed out, I remember in the original Patrick his moustache looked like it was trimmed with a laser, from the looks of it, that seems to still be the case. It needs to be more uneven.

Phil Williamson 11-09-2007 03:25 AM

brilliant...though I'd still love to see some solid package bulge

Mabdog 11-09-2007 06:17 AM

haha, yeah

Pizza The Hut 11-09-2007 06:58 AM
