The mass Dvorak switching thread!

I've just switched my keyboard to the dvorak layout, and thus far i am quite pleased, even if my typing is a little slower in the interim.

I propose that everyone who likes to live on the edge and try new things to join me! We can vent our frustrations in this thread.

I don't understand why you would want to do this.

I like my Qwerty.

AR-Raven 07-01-2007 01:41 AM

qwerty is supposed to slow you down yes, dvorak is technically better

Killer Banana 07-01-2007 01:43 AM

I'd go dvorak if I didn't have to use QWERTY most days at school/college.

Pirate Balloon 07-01-2007 02:02 AM

Princezsupastar 07-01-2007 02:25 AM

Why would you change your keyboard? You must be bored.

Destra 07-01-2007 02:27 AM

Have you physically removed the keys and swapped them around to match the Dvorak configuration, too?

Shootfast 07-01-2007 06:00 AM

y..yes... But not on my laptop, that would be a bitch

AR-Raven 07-01-2007 06:56 AM

Looking from the picture, I'd be spelling my name like a monkey. LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT. I'd feel stupid.

what? It's a complete key reshuffle
http://homepage.mac.com/chinesemac/L...ics/Dvorak.jpg

it makes it so that, once learned, your hands will use the middle row the most, which means your hands move less, you can type faster and the hand usage is more Left/right/left/right.

Think it's a great idea in terms of faster less straining typing, but I just realised that if I switched to dvorak, all my Adobe programs will be so much harder to use, because most of the shortcut keys I'm very used to and they are in logical places.

Also you'd have to reconfigure the keys for every game you play
