Zombie 4: Tactical Mission
2 Attachment(s)
This episode saw many revisions, I'm sure, but the final product is marvelous! When newly released, it was highly decorated for its excellent soundtrack, visuals, and unique camera angles. Zombie 4 still holds its weight to this day and proves to be a worthy end to the series. Of course, the story does not stop there, but the movies did. Maaaaaybe in time..

This has always been one of my favourite movie series. It really does disappoint me that we will never know what was gonna happen NEXT.

Funny this should come up, since I found a disc with some old 3dmm files when I was throwing out some old CD-Rs about two days ago. There's a bunch of things which are aparently Zombie 5. I've no idea what the difference is between these files, if any. I don't have 3dmm anymore, so I can't even check what they are. But I've zipped them all up together anyway:
http://www.ultraman-nexus.com/Zombie...nal%20Hour.zip I never got far with Zombie 5 at all, so I doubt there's more than a minute's worth of footage in any one of these files. I do remember animating a pretty cool toilet though! I've actually got loads of my old movies. Most of them are unfinished. I can upload them for history's sake if anyone wants them. Quite honestly, I'm never going to be doing anything with them. Maybe someone will enjoy them, for whatever they were trying to be. As for what was supposed to happen... who knows? I never had any real idea what I was doing. I used to make those things up as I went along. They were based off some old films I made with one of those cool Tyco "video cameras" when I was about 10-years-old. The Nick Devao character was brought back to life or something and started working for some secret government organization called "Swat 51A"... I think I did the "Nick is back!?" thing in the 3dmm versions somewhere. Wasn't it the cliff-hanger to the third one? The whole idea doesn't really make a lot of sense. At any rate, Nick was going to be the main character in Zombie 5. I think that was the first scene I animated in Zombie 5 -- Nick is using the bathroom and sees his old zombie-scar on his face in the mirror. I was going to bring Dominic back to life using the same "miracle cure" they used on Nick as well. I reprised my "Nick Devao" character this year... well, sort of! My buddy Yagi-san gave me a cameo appearance in an episode he directing of the new Ultraman series. I decided to give my role of "white man in bar" some kind of fake background, so I decided I would be a future version of Nick Devao after he became an alcoholic and moved to Japan, and subsequently had his house crushed by a monster. It works for me! |
Haha niceness! Upload your cameo to youtube!

Hey Goro, are you still in contact with Matt? If so, you should let him know about this new Ultraman, because I think this one will be his sort of thing. Yagi has a really good sense for interesting visuals. This show looks really dark with lots of neat shots, lighting and colors. Plus they're ditching the whole Saturday morning kiddie thing - this is the first true Ultraman for adults, airing from 2.15am next Friday. They're calling it "Ultraseven X":
