Awesome, I've been forgetting to watch this for.. well, years!
Downloaderizing |
This was seriously one of the first movies I downloaded once I moved past Dragon Films. I always enjoy watching it.
|
my favourite movie
|
I think I'd go so far as to say this is my favorite PAM. This is what PAMs should be like in spirit.
|
I found the gadgetry and machinery is the coolest part of this movie.
|
this was such a badass movie
|
Awesome movie!
|
SWEET ASS MOVIE
|
Oooh!
that movie was cool! it's enjoyable to watch.. speaking of which, i'm releasing a movie a bit like that called 'Chucky Ninja' that i made years ago soon. |
i loved it .it was brilliant guy collins

Re-Released as part of the 3DMM Preservation Project.
Dunno how I missed this originally. This is the best PAM I've ever seen. |
hahaha, the flip/cartwheel/spin letters trick is so apparent in this movie, i'm guessing guy had just found out about this method of making objects and got a little carried away ;)
this was great, i remember watching it ages ago, it's likely that it inspired Jim McGraff on a subconscious level, the I.D. scene is almost identical, right down |
I never saw this before. This is really good. It seems really ahead of its time for 2001.

never seen this before. really cool and fun

This was always one of my favorite PAMs. The first time I saw it, it really blew my mind. The animation is so slick and well done, and all by hand obviously. And it's also really cool how it starts out fairly humble but gets more and more impressive as it goes along. It doesn't seem to have any purpose, very much like a true PAM, but the sheer level of effort leads me to believe the primary motive for making this was the simple love and enjoyment of animating, something which I am very envious of. I can imagine Guy Collins getting lost in animating the way other people get lost in Skyrim or Minecraft. There's just something so pure and unassuming about PAMs like this, and not to mention the fact that they age extremely well and are still a blast to watch.

my god the robot animation near the end was incredible

I love the plot summary, seeing it written out like that really brings home how totally pointless it was. Compcat nailed it, this was just an excuse to animate every dumb action scene I'd ever thought of into one movie. At the end I started to attempt some kind of macdonalds parody, but it was never really going anywhere. I'm always regretful I didn't just finish this off by having the spaceship randomly crash into Earth or something, would have fitted perfectly with the theme. And many thanks for your words compcat, they really did bring back memories of countless after-school hours tediously animating scenes, hundreds of unfinished play-throughs where I'd marvel at what I'd actually achieved and imagine how exciting it would be to finally finish it! Which reminds me, I remember when I originally posted this, there was a bit of a division in the community about whether unfinished movies should be accepted, whether they could be scored alongside finished movies etc. There was a view that 'if you didn't bother to finish it, why should we watch it?'. This movie experienced a bit of that reaction, but it seemed to be accepted because I'd put so much work into what was actually finished. Watching it today, though, it just smacks of laziness :no This movie was meant to be my 'litterbug 2'. It's not even 1/10th the movie LB2 was, though. |
That totally rocked my socks. Can't remember seeing that one before, but man, it was pretty damn good. And long for a PAM. Great and clever font-built-machines and scenery. Way to go, Guy! I am impressed.
|
haha I'd never seen this. really great cinematography work - this is exactly what a PAM should be!
|
Awesome movie
|
Kudos for that movie, very impressive.
|
I'm bumping this so I can watch it later.
