3dmm Animation Pro 2.7 (3dmmAP2) (essential for doing complex scene movements. Probably the most handy tool in all of 3dmm land) Note: Includes texture-scrolling and sceneed script files. Move them into the 3dmmap\scripts folder.
3dmm Capture (necessary tools for capturing 3dmm movies to avi, see this thread for more info.)
3dmm Pencil (lets you mess with the internals of 3dmm datafiles.) Note: You must extract 3DMM Pencil to a directory of your choice, and copy 3DMOVIE.EXE into this directory before it will work. -Haynes

BMDL2OBJ Tools (converts 3dmm's native .bmdl model format into .obj, which is readable in all 3D modelling programs, and vice-versa, for model editing.
Ogg Vorbis Codec remover (some people get an error message for no reason when trying to run 3dmm. Use this if symptoms point to Ogg Vorbis)
Py-Q (use this to put full quality sound files in your movies)
Sound Extractor (take out 3dmm default sounds, recorded or imported sounds and convert them to a playable file)
The 3dmm -> GIF maker, Spider2.1 (create animated GIFs from your movie clips)
3D Fonts and Font Letter Maps (3D fonts that have a variety of shapes and awesomenesses. Also click link for map of letters for each font.)
3dmm MIDI Converter (Convert the 3dmm midi's into a useable format, like for ringtones etc!)

3DMMFPS (Change the framerate 3dmm runs at -- see this thread for details on making it work with v3dmm.

VMM Cleaner (removes unused expansions from your movie to lower the file size)
CalcRunTime Calculate the runtime for .3mm or .vmm files. Doesn't count dissolves or credit box time. May not be 100% accurate, but it's close.
Instructions (for CalcRunTime):
1. Extract into the same directory as a .3mm or .vmm file
2. Start > Run > cmd
3. cd to the directory with the files
4. calcruntime filename.3mm
5. calcruntime filename.3mm -xp (for XP speed movies)

You can also find all of these at 3dmm Studio, along with tons of other stuff.

To install 3DMM and the Expansions:

1. Download 3DMM (note: goes up and down depending on bandwidth usage), extract from the zip or rar archive if necessary, and run setup.exe in the 3DMOVIE100 folder.
2. Once it's installed, run the no-CD patch, OR copy all of the files from 3DMOVIE100\3DMOVIE to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Kids\3D Movie Maker. Yes to All on overwriting.
3. Unzip and install Frankie's Expansion. Default settings.
4. Unzip and install Doraemon. Default settings.
5. Unzip and install Nickelodeon. Default settings.
6. Unzip and install v3dmm. Default settings.

That's all you need to watch any 3DMM movie. Further instructions for moviemaking purposes:

7. Download and install whatever expansions you like from the Mods Page to be able to use them in v3dmm. Alternately, whatever expansions are used in any v3dmm movies you watch will be available for use after opening the movie once.
8. Download the 7gen archive. This tool requires Python 2.5-2.7 and a matching pygame version. 7gen itself consists of 7gen.py, and three directories named bin, code, and docs, and can be copied and used in any folder without an install exe. (note that 7gen can only see image or model files inside the directory it resides in). A 7gen tutorial can be found here.

Frequent Install Errors
I get a constant "Oops" error and have to end the program manually.

Remove the Updater from the list: This thread obsoletes its purpose AND it worked only with v3dmm.com anyway, which is down, so the Updater doesn't even work.

The 3dmmstudio.co.uk mirror doesn't work. And I dont mean to blow my own horn here, but my mirror is the fastest :).

Oh, if i remember correctly, my 3dmm link comes with a bunch of expansions in a folder within it (hence extra file size), i'll check tomorrow.
