vbulletin 3.5.1 Upgrade + New Layout

Hope you like the new look of things.

Besides upgrading to 3.5.1, I've also been working with some of vbulletin's new integration hooks to add custom code for 3dmm content. Specifically, there is now an up and running movies section. To post a movie, simply click on the "Post Movie" button on that page. Whenever you post a new movie, a thread for it gets started in the "3dmm Movies" forum automatically, so don't get confused by that.

When posting movies, I invite you to attach screenshots to your entry with the controls provided. Screenshots can be as large as 544x306 pixels, but if you choose something smaller, please make sure it still conforms to 3dmm's 16:9 image ratio. Thumbnails are automatically created from your screenshots on the server, and posted inline with your post.

The movie showcase, which is displayed on the front page of the site, also gets automatically updated everytime someone posts a movie.

Another new section is the Links. Like with the movies, users can post links to their website(s) for display on the page. If you are the owner of the link, you have the ability to edit its content whenever you need to. Also available on the edit link page, is a checkbox to "update" the link. When checked, the link 's last update field will get updated with the current date upon submittal of the form.

I'm currently still developing a rating system for both movies and links that will allow users to rate these individual items. I hope to have this done very soon.

Another integration hook I plan to use very soon is on the user profile page. Expect a listing of all your movies, reviews, and mods (according to the database) to be listed there automatically for you...as sort of a portfolio of your work!

And of course, there's all the missing sections that still need to get done. I'm working very hard on this and promise to have it done by the New Year.

Thanks for putting up with me, and let me hear your feedback! The site is still very much in development, and will definitely change more as the days roll on!

Awesome. I'll check out the new stuff and get back here, but it's good to have it up!

Incasinoout 12-03-2005 09:10 PM

Can you have it so that you can see for than 40 posts per page I'd perfer something like 100 if thats not to hard.

Digital Taco 12-03-2005 09:13 PM

You can set thread view stuff in UserCP... just like on the old board.

Klown 12-03-2005 09:14 PM

I'm sorry but this is ugly. The colors and the layout are just a confusing mess.

Also: letting people delete their posts? Ugh.

40 is the max you can set it at.

Brimz 12-03-2005 10:09 PM

Ahh, this is great.

Space Goat 12-03-2005 10:16 PM

Still need to add the new sound tag, it got lost a long time ago.

The delete was a mistake, but I fixed it about 15 minutes ago. Is it still a prob?

Klown 12-03-2005 10:18 PM

See above your post.

Klown 12-03-2005 10:23 PM

Avatars don't seem to be updatable.
EDIT: Ok

Space Goat 12-03-2005 10:27 PM

It appears the delete was turned off for every forum but this one.

Brimz 12-03-2005 10:27 PM

The only major issue right now is the profile problem. Non-importantly, we have the sound tag and font tag messing up.

Edit: TEST

I'm trying to fix the damn COPPA restrictions right now...

Space Goat 12-03-2005 10:49 PM

I think the coppa restrictions are fixed now...

Lord Blazer 12-03-2005 10:51 PM

In the rules, there's a punishment for non-existant 4.8, and there's no link to Travis's formatter.

Will post more as it comes.

Quick reply makes board look ugly.

Space Goat 12-03-2005 10:54 PM

Yeah, I haven't finished the rules yet.

Mr Mong 12-03-2005 10:58 PM

thats better

James McCloud 12-03-2005 11:09 PM

Can we get rid of the "This user is online" and the "warn this user" icons, please?

At least the first one.

Digital Taco 12-03-2005 11:21 PM

<lessthan10chars>why?</lessthan10chars>

edit: i get a cool red dot with invisible on :D

Salter 12-03-2005 11:23 PM

Is it just me, or is it really slow on IE? I'm on Firefox now, and it zips right along.

Chris Killmore 12-03-2005 11:30 PM

I get decent speeds with both browsers. Overall the new site looks REALLY good, but the post layout makes the sigs seem too small. Maybe they need to be larger.

Breed 12-03-2005 11:34 PM

okay the 10 character limit thing is ridiculous. Why is that even there?

Travis Wells 12-03-2005 11:52 PM

To make Ching mad.

"yep"

Kim Turley 12-04-2005 12:01 AM

blah blah, all looks good

Breed 12-04-2005 12:04 AM

I agree. Everything is fantastic--except the 10 character limit :(

AND THE LACK OF SMILIES :(:(:(
